I found it!!! Glad I save EVERYTHING. The samples I received were from Delta Millworks in Austin TX. There is another company on the east coast, but we are in CA, so Austin would have been less expensive for us. I don't remember the pricing. We spent way too much on our siding and it probably was comparable to what we finally chose. If I could go back, I wouldn't have spent less!! Of course that doesn't help you!!!

Hello! It's been a while, but save for a few pieces of trim we are waiting for, we are nearing completion on the exterior of our cabin! Here are some photos of how it's turning out so far, and a couple of the early build-including my husband hand framing the roof. We did go with black, but after much debate, went with sand colored windows and mixed it up with two different sidings and used a weathered wood asphalt shingle. The fireplace will (eventually) get covered with stone. Exterior lights will be matte gold. Still debating on a door color to go with our Black & Tan cabin.

Your house will be beautiful! Lovely design. Regarding your siding question: I live about 70 miles NE of you, near Sacramento. The exterior of our house is redwood and glass. When we built the house in 1978, we had redwood plywood siding which did not hold up at all. So, in 1999, we removed that, sheathed the house with plywood for strength, and put on individual redwood boards (3/4” x 5”, T&G, blind-nailed with stainless steel nails). The most recent maintenance I did on the wood was in 2017, and at that point I devised my best procedure to maintain it. I can give you details, but it may be too long to write here, so here’s a summary. For your situation, I recommend treating the raw wood of whatever species you use with Concrobium Mold Inhibitor (available at Home Depot) and, after it dries thoroughly, then apply the finish. If you use redwood, the best product I’ve found is PPG ProLuxe SRD-RE Wood Finish, Semi-Transparent Matte, One Coat, Natural (Product # SIK250-078). The “RE” formulation designates “reduced emissions” so it is usable in California. The biggest problem I have faced, even in the hot Sacramento Valley, is surface mold that accumulates on the north side of the house. The siding has held up very well with the procedure I used back in 2017, and I am just now doing some maintenance on the north side to wash off the surface mold that has started to accumulate. So this is the first time in 5 years that I have had to do anything. I’m also lightly refreshing the finish after scrubbing off the mold in some areas. One important point to remember is to never re-apply finish without first cleaning the mold off the wood. Attached are some photos that I took yesterday. None of the areas shown has had anything done to them in 5 years. Excuse the scaffolding – we are in the middle of having the soffits and beams restained (by professionals – that’s a bit too risky for a 76-year-old woman!). @Beth H. This wood siding looks phenomenal. I have the best installer that knows all the rules on how the accoya wood needs to handled and installed... stainless screws and nails, there needs to special spacers used wherever the wood touches the substructure. Let me know if you ever need his name. Look at that cut in dryer vent! A word of warning, the only west coast rep for the wood, Laarni Benabese is not trustworthy. If you must go through her get everything in writing from her and ReSawn siding. Not sure if the company itself is as bad as she is. She guaranteed me certain lengths up to 16 feet, in writing, but when the truck arrived... it was nothing but 8 footers! How I wish I would have recorded her calls as she was trying to gaslight me later. I thought about suing at least in small claims court. A recording would have helped but you know... the wood looks great even with seams on wider sections. I will let it go.
