Comments (19)Don't like Trump, but I may watch someday to see what celebs are on there?? We will be busy watching the Orange Bowl tonight! VaTech vs. Kansas Go Hokies!!!!!!!!!!!!! As for an ordinary Thursday, I like The Office and those NBC shows. Then at 10 House Hunters on HGTV. I'm actually looking for a new show to watch. I haven't seen any lately worth watching-Anyone suggest a new show? I miss Veronica Mars-she was so funny! I don't watch Grey's Anatomy or Desperate Housewives. CSI Las Vegas is good but only if I can watch the whole thing uninterrupted (hate missing some early details!)...See MoreTrump's right about something
Comments (65)"How can someone fake videoed conversations." Here are some things O'Keefe has done in the past: 1. " then-NPR executive Ron Schiller quoted a Republican who viewed tea party activists as “racist.” The edited clip made it appear that Schiller himself held that opinion." https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/10/19/two-democratic-operatives-lose-jobs-after-james-okeefe-sting/ Mr. Vera had been portrayed by O’Keefe as being a willing participant when O’Keefe and his accomplice, Hanna Giles, proposed smuggling young women into the United Statesto work as prostitutes. While Mr. Vera had no idea he was being surreptitiously video taped—which is not surprising given that California law expressly bars the secret recording of one’s voice or image—there was also something Mr. O’Keefe did not know until after he released the damaging video of his conversation with Vera for broadcast. As soon as O’Keefe and his partner-in-crime left the ACORN location, Mr. Vera called the police to report the entire incident. It turns out that Vera had been playing along with O’Keefe in an effort to ensnare O’Keefe and Giles whom Vera believed were in the act of breaking the law by proposing to engage in the importing of young women to become prostitutes. http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2013/03/08/james-okeefe-pays-100000-to-acorn-employee-he-smeared-conservative-media-yawns/#fa590083a786 O’Keefe’s incriminating ACORN video was shown to have been heavily edited—neither he nor Hannah Giles were actually in pimp and prostitute get-up when they spoke to ACORN employees, for example—and no criminal prosecutions of ACORN followed. http://www.cjr.org/campaign_desk/okeefe_teaches_media_a_lesson_again.php 4. Comments (43)dandyrandylou said: An old truth states that anyone who doesn't love animals cannot be trusted. AND If someone doesn't care about pets that says a lot about them. Really? What DOES it say about them? I love my pets, but I know people who are not 'animal people'. Does it say something about me that I am friends with them? We are so quick to judge others based on our own beliefs and have difficulty accepting that 'different strokes for different folks' does not make others bad people. I would be much more leery knowing that someone does not like animals, but keeps them anyway....See MoreWARNING: POLITICAL - Trump & NK
Comments (75)Here's the thing about foreign aid - it's not a charity. It's an investment in the US. People seem to think we spend an immense amount on foreign aid, but we really spend less than 1% of the Federal budget. Beyond genuinely helping people and saving lives, foreign aid directly benefits US security and the economy. Helping to eradicate deadly diseases helps everyone, including US citizens. Helping to stabilize areas helps our own national security, as terrorists thrive in unstable areas. Taking preventative measures can help avoid war and limit the number of refugees. Economically, helping other countries can lead to beneficial trade opportunities. Aiding other countries allows them to grow, become healthier and wealthier, which in turn allows them to become better contributors to the global economy and directly helping us through increased demand for US products. There are many, many benefits. It's a great investment.
