I would select a tone slightly darker than your mortar for the garage door and a color slightly darker than your darkest brick for the front door. Comments (18)There are tons of insulated steel doors that simulate wood well. Depends what else you have going on, on the house Many modern/contemporary homes by me are using these "thermacore" doors (double-sided steel with spray foam between), flush panel with vertical windows. Great door, price point, and achieves the look. Comments (2)Not sure what you mean by "faux" windows. Those garage doors have actual glass in them; they're probably frosted for privacy. Any garage door dealer/installer would be able to find these for you. They're pretty common....See More

You have a great approach to making this design work for you. While it isn't the most traditional approach to garages, making the prominent structure most appealing is uniquely thoughtful design!
You can absolutely do a stained wood/wood look garage door; it would really compliment the style of your home. The recommendation would be to go with a light - mid-tone stain to provide contrast against the dark brick as well as add warmth for a more inviting palette:
Another option to consider in "artifying" your garage and making the design elements really pop would be choosing a finish with a high reflectance value. A copper garage door or one with significant glazing would make a statement:

5 years agoI can't imagine the cost of a copper garage door...It IS beautiful, though..
You could get a "normal" door and get creative with molding..
Agree that what you have does work, but with the brick it's a bit of overkill to emphasize each section....I love the wood doors, too.
