Hello! I'm really tight for space with my vanity - the vanity is 32" wide (33" with counter) and will be centered in an area between a wall and the toilet - area is approx 39" wide at it's widest. How can I put a mirror above the vanity and allow for side lights? Some of the side lights that I have found are only 5" wide and I can do a mirror that is 22-24" wide... Will this work? Thanks everyone - I'm going crazy trying to figure this out...

The junction box for the light is probably mounted to a stud, which doesn't happen to be centered on the vanity. There are ways of adjusting the box's position, or replacing it with an old work box that can be cut into the drywall just about anywhere. However, in many cases, moving that box wouldn't be trivial. At the very least it would require drywall patching, and there's a good chance the electrician would have to fish a new cable to the box because the existing one wouldn't be long enough. It;s up to you, but if it were my house, I probably wouldn't bother.

m down to the wire, in decision making, before electrician comes in to review our electrical needs in basement. I so want sconces as opposed to overhead lighting, but it may be as simple as just throwing in the towel on this one. Placement of mirror(s) and lighting over the sink (left side) and the makeup side (right side of vanity) has been extremely difficult for me due to the odd angle of the vanity and the two walls the vanity spans on are not same width. I would appreciate any advise.

I would do one large mirror with the two lights for the larger vanity. And one mirror with a single light over the smaller.
