How to select leather sofa style and color?
Comments (1)Depends what kind of style you like. This is simply a matter of preference and depends on whatever else you have going on in the room. We thought we were saving money by getting the faux leather on the back of our sofa. Saved several hundred dollars. Five years later the leather is wearing beautifully, but the faux leather back is cracking horribly in areas of heavy use. This was an expensive custom wrap around set at a reputable leather furniture store. HTH Brian...See MoreHancock & Moore Leather Sofa Deal - Should I?
Comments (23)Thank you all so much for the advice and information. I think you're right that I really need to sit down and think about this purchase more, rather than just jumping in feet first because of the "good deal". It sounds like if I like it enough to be the largest thing in the space, it will work with what I have and it will be a great quality piece. But, if I find myself doing this for the deal, then maybe I should reconsider and look elsewhere. Thank you, my3dogs for the pictures of the H&M September sofa in a darker color. I have to say, I'm liking the style a lot more seeing it in the darker color. Though I do still have similar concerns about the "heaviness" of the sofa. Wow, runninginplace, that's a really lovely sofa. I thought Thomasville was on par cost-wise with H&M. Maybe I need to do more searching locally to see exactly what is available and what I can find on sale. That's a great point about the fact that I'm considering the "life" of the sofa in my house....See MoreDecorative pillows with decorator style - how to?
Comments (17)I am definitely putting in a zipper, and luckily, all I know how to install is an invisible zipper! I never got the hang of the little flappy thing that covers a zipper, much to my mother's dismay. clt3, I took another look at the pillow with the corner ties (from Mrs. Howard, btw). I think you are right. Rats! It was going to be so much easier to sew a tie into the corner rather than leaving the corner free! I may still just sew it into the corner. I can't get my head around having to have cording at the corners without a flange, but yet it would need a flange to sew into the seam allowance around the rest of the pillow. Way too complex for me!...See MoreWhat style is our new house, and how should we decorate?
Comments (26)Kaya the thing that turns Farmhouse or Modern Farmhouse into Industrial Farmhouse are components like heavier metals, metal trimmed out furniture with rivets, heavy beams, pulleys or industrial style wheels on furniture factory style light fixtures (your island pendents) etc. The term can be thought of this way. It is basically an old factory that is turned into housing but farm style added. If that makes sense. Exposed brick can be one, but this goes with several decor styles so I wouldnt want you to think , I love exposed brick that means I like industrial. I may not be describing this well so I googled definition and they say what I am but better LOL "Industrial farmhouse style combines comfortable and welcoming farmhouseatmosphere with the edgy, rugged lines of industrial style. Traditional industrial style is based on the concept of living in a factory or warehouse setting—picture a modernloft apartment in a big city." Some photos here rivets on hood, barn door, metal pendents, barstools, weathered island here exposed air ducts, island, lighting, windows and painted brick walls here metal and exposed beams, weathered brick wall, concrete island Here hood, weathered walls, heavy beamed island here weathered beams, metal trimmed weathered island, pendents, weathered flooring Hope this helps...See Morecpaul1
