Mary, I have used the small soda bottles before, you can tape them all together, like a 6 pack, just one piece of tape all around will keep them from falling over, they work good enough, great if you are only going to sow a few seeds. Have fun,not matter how you do it, just throw them caps away. cAROL...See MoreT-giving meal costs: Does this sound right to you guys?
Comments (32)AM, there was an episode of Trading Spouses or some such foolishness on year or two ago that made me thing of several of you. DH ran into the house with "OMG, OMG, we HAVE to watch this!" We haven't watched TV in years; the only reason we had one was to watch movies. But he insisted we HAD to watch this show. They sent a woman from near where we lived (whose something like third cousin worked with DH) to just outside Boston and they sent the Boston mans wife to BFE Kentucky. Did I forget to mention the Boston family kept Kosher? We weren't five minutes into this show and I was already muttering "She's going to STARVE TO DEATH! There is NO kosher food in KY! I know. I've looked!" Sure enough, the poor woman ended up having to order food from some 800 number and have it FedExed to her. Meanwhile the woman sent to Bsoton made me want to crawl under a rock. I think that's when we made up our minds that we had to move. BTW, I am thoroughly enjoying your blog. OK, Sales. I've got Wal-Mart, Smiths, Raleys and Scolaris nearby. Of course Wal-mart will be cheapest. Fortunately, I don't have a flyer from them, so I can completely ignore that they exist. Raley's is in the middle, so I'll use theirs. Turkey .97 lb (Chase, how many do you want? Think I can get them through an airport?) Free Range ASH-free - $1.99 lb 12 ok dinner rolls - 2.49 Yams - 1.49 lb Russets - 2 lbs/$1.00 Frozen peas - 16 oz $1.39 Cranberries - 2.49 per bag (what's with THAT!) House brand butter - $2 per pound Pumpkin pie - 4.99 Hmmm... in the bakery there's a Cranberry Apple with Pine Nuts stuffig mix for 4.99. That actually sounds pretty good....See MoreCab guy suggested, But, what do you think?
Comments (12)I have cancelled THREE finalization appointments with the cabinet maker. I HAVE to make a decision. What the heck is wrong that I can't make a decision? I don't want to make a mistake. When I look at kitchens, googling all different combinations, this is what I feel.... The white island with wood top makes my heart leap. The Alder island with white top makes my heart leap. No wood on wood, no white on white, no wood with anything other than white, and no white with anything other than wood. (for the island) So, how do you decide? I LOVE the white perimeter, wood island contrast. But, I Don't love giving up the wood top on the island. It makes me sick to my stomach just thinking of giving up on it. Now, for a bit of information that might make a difference in your suggestions, I just bought the antique table with three chairs that will sit on the end of the island. It is 3'x3', and it is oak. This has been in the plan all along, a small table at the end of the island for the grandkids or me and DH when just the two of us. The large dining table is caddy-corner from the kitchen and it will be a 10' farmhouse table with walnut top. Should I just say "that is enough wood" and call it good? And, no wood top on island? (sick feeling) The "side" kitchen is planned white cabinets which houses fridge/freezer, oven, and microwave. Would it look like I bought some craigslist cabinets and threw them in there if I have those made alder? It's clearly visible to the main area of the kitchen. I think I need a therapist....See MoreHey guys... I'm sorry.. but, can I talk to ya for a min.?
Comments (24)Nicki, nothing stays the same. Nothing at all. Everything is constantly undergoing change. First of all, you have got to clear your mind. Stop drinking or using anything for a crutch. Sit quietly and think about the person you want to be. Think about the steps you need to make to be that person. Start small. You have little girls and their minds are like a sponge. Find something you can teach them. Their appreciation and joy in new things will help you. Set aside time every day for them and some for yourself, but don't spend a lot of time worrying about whether other people like you or not, or hanging with people who will bring you down. Don't "party"...whatever that means. If you have to make new friends...then be on the look out for some that are the kind of people you want to be around. Take part in your daughters' activities at school, when work permits. If anyone brings you down...or is a bad influence on you...cut them loose. I had to do that, myself, in order to be at peace. There are always people who have nothing to do but sit around and drink and stir up trouble. I know you are a very pretty girl. I've seen your pictures. There is nothing attractive about a woman who drinks too much. You don't want your children to grow up and remember you as an alcoholic. It's a waste of precious time and money. Nicki, you can change, but you have to start taking care of yourself, and that means putting you and the girls first. It takes a little strength to do that, but it gets easier all the time....See More- 5 years ago
