Anyone heard of ColorQuartz brand of quartz?
Comments (67)Steer clear of ColorQuartz. I bought five slabs of Akoya Pearl Quartz from International Granite and Marble (IGM). This quartz is made by ColorQuartz. Their sample was incredibly beautiful. It looked like real stone. It was to be delivered and installed while I was gone, therefore I asked IGM if I should come and approve the slabs before I left. They said no, because it was man-made, they would all look like the sample. They delivered and installed while I was gone. The material that was installed was of incredibly poor quality. It has little specks all over it. It looks like it is covered in freckles or made of tapioca. I called IGM and complained. They came to my home and looked at it and agreed with me. They said it would be up to ColorQuartz to refund my money or replace it. I called the local ColorQuartz rep. He said it was awful that the quartz looked so bad. He said he would do something that day or the next. He did not. I then called and complained to the ColorQuartz VP of Sales. He literally told me he didn't care. Repeatedly, he just said, "I don't care". I never heard of any sales person ever before say such a thing. IGM is no longer returning my calls, so I am not too pleased with them either. If they are a good company, they will drop ColorQuartz. I paid $6121.61 for those slabs. I am attaching photos. The one on the right is the actual, the one on the left is the sample....See MoreQuartz countertops - difference in translucency between brands?
Comments (33)If you look at the warranty inforamtion on the manufacturer websites you will see the difference in how Zodiac treats the issue of resin pooling in contrast to Cambria. Zodiac states no spot will be more than the size of a quarter, I believe, and all spots must be confined to no more than a quarter of the slab for the slab to be considered first quality. Cambria's warranty states "color blotches are intended and designed into many colors to enhance the natural beauty...product will not be replaced due to these variations." Silestone does not address blotches at all in its warranty but does say color variances are not covered. I don't know if they would consider the splotches a color variance but I really have not heard of problems with this type of thing with Silestone, either. I think Cambria just decided they didn't want to deal with trying to solve the problem and so just "designed it in". Zodiac went the other way, and is trying to limit the problem, but can't guarantee there won't be any at all. So, if you like the blotches, go with Cambria, if you don't either be sure to view the slab first or don't go with Cambria, and make sure to check the warranty for this issue with whatever company you go with. I hope my Zodiac installation goes well on Monday. Sue...See MoreMy Brand New Quartz Countertop Stained
Comments (9)Joseph, so you are correct in making any statements, our cleaning products DO NOT contain any soap, nor do they contain any detergents, or surfactants. Actually they are all 100% natural, safe on all stone of any brand, type and finish. Plus are 100% biodegradable etc. They are made by industry professionals AKA Master stonemasons for the stone industry. How's your university studies going? or they did not let you back after your Hot for Teacher incident? lauramandy4 there is a couple of issues going on here, 1) Pink Tylenol has a food coloring in it and will cause the staining to the quartz 2) Cilantro or Coriander as it is also known as has a strong chlorophyll pigment in it and why you are getting this issue as well. Both can be easily solved by using out Stone Power Cleaner which is available on Amazon in the USA and Canada via FBA and Prime. See our video for Turmeric etc as these cause the same issue and extremely easy to remove with a spray and wipe of our Stone Power Cleaner' https://youtu.be/JwVYmANZLxY This issue with 409 and my assumption is you are refering to the multipurpose cleaner is that it does not remove stains, plus it is Caustic with a pH of around 11.5 which is higher than most drain & oven cleaners. NOTE: any other product from 409 WILL CAUSE damage to the quartz. The use of 409 products would void sections 4,7 and 11 of your Quartz Masters warranty. http://www.quartzmasters.com/care-and-maintenance/#residential...See MoreDoes this quartz countertop installation for peninsula look OK?
Comments (16)HI -- It probably is the wall but even if the stone was cut to the wall you would still see the curvature . The wall needs to be corrected to fit the stone . That wall should have been checked for level before the stone was measured . Or have more counter material cut for a small trim piece like a back splash . Only other solution is to live with it ...it looks fine ....maybe set some decor items there to hide it ....See MoreKitchen West
