New garage floor Epoxy? Pad? Tiles?
Comments (31)I used plastic snap-together tiles from costco on the main part of my floor and they look fine. They've been in about 7 years now. There's a small step up to a landing before the door to the house where I used epoxy from home depot. I think it was Rustoleum. It still looks fine, although it's picked up some stains that haven't come out with some casual mopping. One thing I noticed is the concrete cracked slightly and obviously that shows clearly through the epoxy. If the concrete cracks under the tiles it doesn't show....See MoreBest epoxy paint for garage floor?

Comments (8)Yes, it’s a garage floor. And it has not received a single blemish, chip, stain, peel, or scratch in five years. There’s a reason as to why that is. Obviously, not surprised enough to fix it for free - but surprised nonetheless. I consulted with a few companies and they all said the same thing. Full sand down and roll a fresh clear coat. Most people would just deal with it - but my OCD says no. The floor installers also managed to scratch two ”scratch resistant” planks of the laminate flooring they installed by also dragging equipment. But thankfully, they will replace those for free....See MoreEpoxy Coating for garage floor- Worth it?
Comments (9)Congratulations on your new home. We have epoxy floors in the garages of one of our rental properties (was there when we bought it). It is very nice looking and easier to keep clean. It depends on what else you want to do with your home. I view it as a “nice to have” but not necessary. Agree with Jan that there may be other places to spend your money that will make you happier. If it were my place, finishing the garage walls would come first. Start a list of things you think you may want to do around the house and prioritize them. For many people, garage floors are not that important, but for others they are....See Moreskofla
