Why does my bloom look so different?
Comments (2)Ischan, I found the pic that looks like yours ....almost. It should be a semi-mini Single chimera red-purple pansy, blue fantasy. Medium green, quilted, serrated. I do not see the blue fantasy and your leaves are light green. If it is the very first bloom - wait - sometimes they come to look closer to the description after the second - third bloom. It is definitely a beautiful chimera - and chimeras are rare. Check where you bought it - it can be another chimera - misnamed - or your chimera sported - changed a bit. But it is very lovely and rare. Enjoy it. Good Luck Irina Here is a link that might be useful: another monkeyshines...See MoreSo Excited My First Seedling Is Blooming!!!
Comments (22)Thanks everybody! I was so excited when I found it last night that I forgot to look at the tag. It is Ludgers Windsong x Mountain Magic. I didn't think it was opening for another day & just happened to look over & there it was. If the neighbors heard me, they probably thought I was crazy. It was dark by the time I got the pictures so that's all I got & a good thing because when I checked this am, it was chewed up (grrrr). The color is the same as it was last night except for the pink creeping up the bloom. The two tone look has stayed. It is 11 inces from top to bottom & almost 11 inches wide from twanger to twanger. I'll see how what's left of the flower does the next couple days. I have Ys on about 10% of my seedlings but I'm running out of time here. Only about 22 days till the frost date. I have a dream of naming special brugs after my children (big dream since there are 8 of them & 7 grandkids & two of my best friends). Most everyone I know just laughs & says I'll be lucky to get one. Well I have high hopes anyway. Linda...See MoreWhy are my Iris' taking so long to bloom?
Comments (3)I'm in NY too. Mine are really slow to bloom this year. First we had the warm (hot) weather that hurried them along, and now the cool weather is slowing them down. I'm up on a hill, that stays cooler, so my neighbors have some blooming and I don't of the same established variety. I suspect it's just the cold keeping yours back. Also newly divided ones do tend to take longer to bloom. But when the neighbors iris are gone, yours won't be!...See MoreWhy do my tomato plants look so sickly?
Comments (9)Hopefully this is the one you got. Made for containers. ((Nandina, I am a sucker for new and unusual products but I really dislike that her website doesn't say what it is made of or what the NPK is. I can read testimonials but I want to know what is the product make-up behind all the hoopla before I purchase it. If you go to Messenger site it says it is harpin protein etc.--I can research that and make a decision. I looked it up on Wash. State site, very, very low NPK but doesn't give source. I don't care if it is the hair of a yak from Mongolia --I may try it if enough people were raving about it but a company should say what are the components of the product.))
