Pictures would really help a great deal. Both of the blooms and of the foilage of the apparent non-Iceberg variety. Also, climbing Iceberg is not really a great choice for our climate and zone. It isn't hardy enough to be a true climber each year and since it is also somewhat BS prone, this tends to weaken the plant going into the following year. The shrub version of Iceberg does just fine here however and has enough vigour to regrow each year despite the BS.

Maybe exponential growth. When they have small differences in the beginning the one that did better had an advantage. So more leaves early leads to more growth early. Also yes being in the dark does cause elongation. Its also possible one is a nuclear tree and the other zygotic.

catherinet, I have a small (I mean small) pond with a water lily in it, and all the frogs laid eggs in it, the tadpoles are a pain, I added a goldfish, he eats all the frog eggs, so now I don't have that problem anymore. He is happy too.

Katelyn, so it sounds like you have recently watered this plant but the leaves are still shrivelled? Couple of other things may be worth considering: could be that the plant has lost it's roots to rot (or a pest), try giving the plant a gentle tug to see if it comes away from the soil. If the plant feels firmly rooted, another possibility is that the roots are situated in a clump of hydrophobic peat which the water is not penetrating. You may need to consider digging the plant up in order to find out exactly what is going on. Andrew
