Window treatments for Southern California beach rental unit

We have a 3 level coastal condo that has been undergoing a remodel in preparation to use as a short term rental. We have gone for white walls, laminate floors, and open and minimalist decor. We need window treatments for afternoon sun, some privacy, and in the back bedrooms (east and garden facing) will need to offer tenants dark for sleeping. I'm meeting with someone from Costco window treatments tomorrow, and would love to get your thoughts on something simple, sturdy, functional. When not in use, I would like them to basically disappear and just have the big windows and the ocean to look at from the kitchen, dining room, living room, upstairs office and master bedroom - all west and ocean facing.
