casalester, the lady fern makes a nice clump and is easy. spleenwort does make a clump but it's small- like maybe 8" when full grown, so i doubt you'll get much coverage. It is evergreen, though. your choice. lisianthuslover, my bad. i just assumed b/c you'd seen jeri's rose... i do recall digging alstromeria this spring. It was a bit frantic, though at the swap. be nice to put a face to a name. i do have some ornamental oregano, can get you some. Carla, yes, i remember now! Super cute. Sure, swing by afterwards and get a branch. but you can have a pot, too- i have several. :) by the time you move it might be to a whole 2'! LOL yes, dogridge, i have plenty of pawpaws. Hi everyone, first I want to say I plan to come to the trade, but I am totally unprepared and so I will not be doing my normal gizillion prearranged trades. I have to say I have totally been neglecting my yard lately and you guys as well. But I am coming with whatever I have time to pot up by Saturday. I do ahve a few things I know I need to get rid of because I am not going to try and overwinter them again this year. so if anyone wants the following let me know-- a large Datura (double purple and white flowers) a small peruvian lime Also I have Peter Pan Agapanthus--I am giving up on it because it has barely bloomed in 3 years so I have 5 I believe. Tall white butterfly ginger if anyone wants some, I know I need to move it but not sure if I will do so before Saturday if no one asks for it. I would like any daffodil bulbs, crocus or other early spring bloomers you might have. I also have the items on my trade list. also Danielle do you still have any of the honeycomb butterfly bush? I had one and it died when I tried to move it too late this spring.

Given the description of the discrepancy between the color you are getting and the color described for this tree, I am afraid that there is a great possibility that the tree you bought is not the tree you got. I have been buying trees for years from all kinds of suppliers, some with the very best of reputations, and more than 8 or 10 times I have gotten trees that were not what was on the label. For example, one time Musser forests, whom I think highly of, sold me English oak instead of burr oak, Forest Farm, whom I also think highly of, sold me swamp chestnut oak in place of burr oak, and a very good local nursery sold me shummard oak instead of scarlet oak. I could go on and on. Last year I was walking around looking at trees at a local nursery and found two or three that were OBVIOUSLY mislabeled--there must have been a larger number of others that I did not notice or did not have the expertise to notice were mislabeled. This is a big problem as far as my experience tells me. I know some of these Japanese maples are very hard to distinguish based on clear physical characteristics, but perhaps there is some characteristic you can find that will distinguish what you wanted from what you got. --Spruce
