Cut and bring my Fiddle Leaf Fig tree inside after new leaves?

Hello! I left my Fiddle Leaf Fig tree under a heating vent while away for the Holidays (my fault!). After that, it dropped all its leaves one by one throughout the winter months, but it seemed like it was still alive. I read an article that I should put it outside in a bright (not sunny) spot and let nature do its thing, so that's what I did, leaving it intact. This week I noticed new leaves growing at the base of the trunk!

I have two questions:

1) Should I bring it inside to avoid bugs on the tree (I live in TN)?

2) Should I cut the top part off the tree since the leaves are growing at the base?

Thanks!
