Need your help-"Thought" I transplanted a few rose plants but....
Comments (1)Your original roses have propagated themselves from roots left after transplanting. If your roses are grafted, the bushes will probably be the rootstock that was used by the grower--they usually are once blooming, small flowered vigorous plants that most people don't want as roses. If your roses were own-root, they are clones of the bushes you moved & you may wish to pot them up & plant them with the others....See MoreFar North rose growers, your help needed..
Comments (5)Hello Marina, The "Old Rose Nursery" has the Canadian hardiness zones for many of the roses he offers. The Canadian hardiness zones differ a bit from the USDA hardiness zones. http://www.oldrosenursery.com/availability.htm I am in the Canadian zone 3b. "John Cabot" has been in itÂs rather shady location for a number of years now and has performed well enough. "Morden Sunrise" is new to me this year. I have been advised that without protection it dies back to the ground each winter. I have been very pleased with itÂs performance so far. I have "Morden Ruby" but am thinking of removing it. The blooms on "Morden Ruby" tend to rot in damp weather. The bush itself has been very vigorous. If you wish to use any of my poor efforts at photography they can be found at the link. Comments (2)With the recurve on the sepals on the 2nd one,I would guess BOLD SPIRIT.JOE HUDSON was never registered, but I found a pic to compare with.If you were to use them in hybridizing,I would list as UNKxJOHN PEAT to be safe. Comments (3)I can't pick a favorite, but Liv Tyler, Rouge Royale, and Belinda's Dream are all good roses for me. Since you mentioned Rouge Royale first and last, I think you want that one the most. The blooms are amazing and it has a great strong scent too. Black spot resistance in my Florida yard is above average for a hybrid tea. Vigor is good for me and it's grafted on Dr. Huey and planted in a large pot. The bush looks like a typical hybrid tea, not very impressive. The first few blooms did crisp a little in the intense sun, but I moved it somewhere with a little less sun. There is a good amount of blooms and an above average repeat. The blooms last for a long time cut and on the bush. I'd get it if you want it. You are posting this question on the picture gallery forum.
