Why did I even bother?
Comments (5)Funny. The other day I was (finally) planting out, and I decided to plant out some of the six or seven kinds of rudbeckia I had sown. Well, not only did quite a large number of rudbeckias overwinter, but there are dozens and dozens of seedlings everywhere! I thought for a moment, "Hmm, maybe next year I won't sow any, and just have the ones that overwinter and reseed". But then I thought in horror that with my luck, NOTHING would overwinter and NOTHING would reseed. So that's why I bother, lol. Just...in....case.... :) Dee...See MoreLost my mother suddenly, tragically and too soon. :-(
Comments (8)I lost my Mom suddenly 6 weeks ago due to health issues, so I understand part of what you're feeling. It's hard dealing with unexpected deaths or tragic accidents. From what I've learned in the grief group I attend, you have to let yourself feel the pain or it will come back later in a worse way. So I kind of think it's too soon for you to go back to your normal routine, although I would never give anyone advice since this is all so very individual. This sentence you wrote struck me...."She was dealt a really bad hand in life and coped the best she could, she was the best Mom she could possibly be giving the pain she was exposed to and the subsequent decisions she made to deal with that pain."......I think it's very healthy that you acknowledge the cards your Mom was dealt and give her credit for coping the best she could, yet you also know that she made decisions in the way she coped too. This is a healthy way to look at it. It sounds like you were very close and I know how hard it is to lose a Mom you are close to. I hope you can find some joy and strength with your husband and kids....See MoreUGGHH!! Why do I bother
Comments (7)Well I got lucky. The heavy rain only fell for a few minutes and then some how the big storm heading our way split in two, one heading north the other south somehow we avoided trouble. It did rain for a couple hours over night but since I had it covered it is fine. Man that was close. I wasn't worried about it washing away, I was more concerned with the rain ruining the finish, which for an entry walkway is important. Well dodged a bullet on that one....See MoreHumor - Marney's Thanksgiving Letter
Comments (7)I've seen this before and just love it. After reading it again on Sunday I went shopping, and on one of the end-cap displays near the wine section, they featured Clos du Bois Chardonnay, and I let out loud snort of laughter. I felt like making a cryptic sign that simply said "Marney says 'BUY THIS WINE'"...See MoreMoses, Pittsburgh, W. PA., zone 5/6, USA
