Stair Runner on Wood Stairs - Need Help
Comments (2)Any good carpet installer would be able to do it. Should be no more than $500.00. For reference, we typically pay around $250.00 for the stairs when they are installing the remaining portion of the house....See Morestairs dilemma- keep the carpet? stairs dilemma-to keep the carpet to
Comments (4)Well, if you decide to stay with the solid tread/risers (IMHO... the best, but I'm biased), and you remove the side boards... the best application would be to replace the treads, because if you keep them, the exposed ends would need to have, what we call "returns", and it's probably not feasible to add them to the existing treads....See MoreNeed help with a runner dilemma!
Comments (9)I think if I wanted a runner there and you love what you have, I'd just have it run in the part of the hallway coming up from the stairs. The place where you have the runner in the background in that latest picture, looks like it's part of a room and not part of the hallway? That last runner you posted is very nice and looks like it would coordinate well, too, if you really think you need something longer than your current one....See MoreStair runner pattern reco for stairs that get wider at botttom
Comments (13)Thank you to everyone for your input! I wanted to follow up just in case anybody else is struggling with the same decisions I was with a curved expanded bottom couple of steps in an old staircase. Despite some of the recommendations above, I did go with plaid and I absolutely adore it. So it can be done, but to get the lines to continue to flow in a consistent way took a ton of planning and hours of labor. But I love how it turned out. Thank you again for all the help And suggestions!...See MoreRelated Professionals
