Drum light will be a little anti-climactic to your other choice. I like the bigger one better because it matches your other lights better, and no, it's not too large for your table, especially when the table is extended, but even when collapsed it is still 18" shorter than your table's length, so that's fine.

The light in the entry right now is totally useless IMO it does not even light the ceiling. It seems you like modern so how about Nelson bubble lights I love them mixed and you could do them in a different mix for both spaces .
