Various Photo Contests

I have been treated to and enjoyed many beautiful photos and stories on this forum. If anyone is interested, there are a few contests going on right now that are looking for entries of various garden shots and stories as well as photos of flowers and wildlife. I am in no way affiliated to any organizations that sponsor the contests. THis is just a sharing of info only. I think there are so many talented gardeners on here who will have a great chance of winning with their entries and transformations.

Country Gardens right now have a contest open to amateur gardeners. Deadline is 9/2018. Here is link for details of the contest.

I voted. It was interesting seeing the different looks for the same daylilies. I did tend to vote for the ones that looked most like what I've seen in this area. Of course that didn't apply to the ones I hadnt seen before. Will be interesting to see which ones make it to the next round. Val

I submitted a couple of pics of Luna Moth to Bob, just emailed him and they were up the same day. He sent back an email thanking me for the submission. Not sure what the photo contest is, per se, haven't really paid attention to that. Bob won't be running the hosta library much longer, he is training someone else to take it over, fyi. He was very open to posting pics of a hosta that, like Bkay said, the pics that were on there were very underwhelming and just didn't do it justice.

They must be drawing and waiting for people to claim a prize. I just got an e-mail. Almost everything was gone, but there was still a $25.00 gift certificate. It says "Dawn Bloomer", which I'm hoping means Dawn's Bloomer's in Independence, Iowa. If so, I can spend a little more on my annual visit next spring. Beverly, ITCG has some hard to find new hostas. I picked up Bridal Falls this spring. Moved it to a bigger pot where it sat all summer while the new bed was under construction. Finally planted it yesterday, and it had roots coming out the bottom of the pot. Love a vigorous plant. You'll find something good - Enjoy!
