How important is that dining room color relate with other rooms

I would love to hear your ideas on this one and here is why. I am getting ready to paint the foyer and hallways upstairs and downstairs in Gentle Cream. My family room is Lenox Tan and I have a couple of blue gray rooms and one painted Nantucket Gray, which of course reads green.

I have a dining room which is Onondaga Clay a more brownish red. In that room I accent with cream and black. It has a pine farm table and hutch. I think the room is very striking as it is rich and looks great with my chairs, etc. My issue with it is that it doesn't seem to "flow". Would love to get feedback on it. I love a cottage, farmhouse feel. Thanks in advance!
