If you're close to Penn Yan, though (like just south of the border), it was Ray Hoover at Whispering Pines Woodcraft. He was wonderful.

Your requests are not unreasonable. In my mind, industry standard is that you should get a full coat of paint (no missed spots and complete coverage with a good film build) and the surfaces should be smooth. You are right about the environment in which the cabinets were sprayed. Some guys go to great lengths to create a dust free area in which to spray and others are cabinet makers first, painters second. With lacquer because it dries so fast, you really have to spray an item and move it out of the area. If overspray hits a door that is already dry, then that door will be rough.

If you are near an Amish cabinetry maker, you may find they can do the kitchen for the same cost I have Crystal Cabinet Works beaded inset cabinets and I'm very pleased. I purchased mine during a "free paint" and "free inset" promotion. They allow you to combine their Keyline (less customization, lower price) and full custom offerings that keeps their pricing in the mid to mid-high category. (They were far less than the Fieldstone). They have a good reputation here and among my preferred contractors. There is a good thread here on pricing comparison of white painted shaker cabinets.

We have an area need to put in new kitchen cabinet due to water leak of refrigerator. Cabinet already custom made. Could you give me an estimated time needed to put in and paint the cabinet to match existing cabinets? There are two sections of cabinets. Counter type section is 3 panels of drawer and cabinet with inside shelf. 3drawers and cabinet doors are the original. Just need to put into place and have original granite on top. The other section is top cabinet and side broom carpartment built around refrigerator. All top cabinet door and side broom compartment doors as well as the side next to the counter section need to be painted matching existing cabinet color. The top cabinet measurement is 46 width x 20-1/4 height x 24 deep. The side compartment measurement is 8 width x 72 height x 24 deep. I would like an experienced estimate on the time required for setting up the custom made cabinet and have those painted to match the color of existing cabinets. Thanks.
