smelly water after plastering
Comments (6)I'd go ahead with the check -- if nothing else they could tell you what's causing the problem by analyzing the water. What I meant by that line was that if somehow material was continuing to enter the pipe, then there would have to be an opening, and you would have a leak. If they capped it, but after getting say a chunk of drywall in there, then perhaps there's something in the pipe. But it seems unlikely that hte amount of drywall that coudl get into a pipe would cause a problem for this long . . . one other thought--have you tried taking the aerators off of the upstairs faucets? Possibly there's a small chunk of drywall stuck in there. Still unlikely to give you this smell for three weeks, but maybe that's what's going on....See MoreHelp with Kitchen Layout
Comments (9)Thanks for the additional input. All good :) I like the idea of a pullout pantry. I was thinking I would want some of the commonly used staples kept in the kitchen so the pullout pantry would make good use of an otherwise fairly hard to use space. And I hadn't thought about the offset being a good thing. Now thinking about it we have run into that very problem in our curent kitchen. I had angled the oven thinking I needed to move the sink over towards the oven as much as I could. With the angle, I could put it in the corner and still be able to access the oven from both sides. I had the comment from someone else that I might need to worry about not having enough room to walk behind the dishwasher so I was keeping the sink as far away from the entry into the dining area as possible. However, since I opened up the walkway I'm not really concerned about that anymore. So..... I have now moved the oven to sit flush against the wall to get it out of the corner and just moved the sink over closer to the dining area. I also went ahead and opened up the doorway to the pantry/garage in order to keep the walkway more straight although I did keep some of the corner cabinet as a landing space for coming in from the garage. Thanks again for the input!...See MoreHardware Help; am I mixing in too many metals?
Comments (5)I have something similar planned for my kitchen, combining antique brass and wrought iron, rather than ORB, but with a similar effect. I'm not doing stainless steel appliances, but the white appliances often have stainless accents. Since most of your antique brass is not right in the kitchen work area and it sounds like you may be using ORB for a transition between the two...I think it will look very nice. White would be fine, too and would probably go very well with any of the other finishes you mentioned, since it's such a great neutral :)...See MoreWe are done! Here are some professional pictures.
