Why isn't my lawn as full/plush as it should be?

Over the past 6 years (since we moved into our house), aside from the weed issue here and there (and poa problems), the lawn is overall good/healthy. Soil tests come back looking good (ph is low so I always add lime).

However, even amidst the good/best patches of lawn, which look awesome when looking at street level, there are always many small dirt patches that can be seen from upstairs (looking down on lawn), or just when walking the lawn. Here are some examples, some more extreme than others, but in one you can see how good it looks in half the photo, but the other half shows how it looks once you walk over that 'good' area. It's not all this bad, but a lot of it is.

I have a good lawn care regimen, I aerate/overseed every fall, etc... but I can never get that thick/plush lawn that I'm looking for.

Maybe I need more KBG mixed in with the TTTF (as KBG spreads/fills-in)? Lately I've been using a 90/10 mix.

Thanks for any suggestions!
