Comments (68)I would plant the catmint "underneath" the fence so it looks good from both sides of the fence. I would plant enough to make an edge like the above picture. I suppose if you want to add the climbing rose you could do so but i'm not sure you need it. I have a split rail fence and i also am planning on planting catmint as seen above. I love my catmint i have in my yard. it's beautiful land drought tolerant. I suggest maybe adding it to your other flowerbed as well....See MoreGet rid of split rail fence or not?
Comments (11)Pictures are too tiny. (If you have them in an app like MS Paint, you might have forgotten to remove excess white space that surrounds them.) Where the fence is used to corral the entrance, I would definitely get rid of that portion and reconfigure the rest....See Morestairs with hand rail or no hand rail
Comments (34)The post I mentioned would not be at the bottom tread so the design of a continuous handrail would have to bypass the post to get to a newel at the bottom tread and there would need to be a guard at the new opening whether it be solid, balusters, etc. At first glance it seems a potentially messy solution. Perhaps the handrail could be at the other side and the guard could terminate at the post. The bottom tread should have had returns at each side.
