So indecisive...help me with mirror/sconce placement
Comments (6)I am picking a mirror out too. I think you bring up good points about the small size of mirror in the last image you've attached. Yet the high contrast of the wall and mirror really emphasize the mirror. The style of the mirror your looking at is detailed and probably will require size consideration because of the "framed" look. On the other hand if there was minimal framing or frameless, I think it could be any size. I think this because the mirror simply reflects. But I could also say that, depending on what it reflects, this would also be the factor in size selection. Now, of course I am just thinking out loud here, as I have no expertise. But your lonely thread needed a post :) And my comments are sincerely offered. edited to correct a misspelled word. Comments (2)I am definitely no color expert, but, have you considered SW Dover White? When I paint my trim, that's what I'm using. Nice white, without being too white, very slight yellow undertone (no pink, no grey). I think since most of your wall colors are in the brownish/tan family, SW Antique White might not give you the contrast you'd like....See MoreHelp needed for an indecisive couple
Comments (9)Here's an idea. I moved the sink to the short wall. I have 25" for DW (+1" panel to support the countertop), 30 sink cab and voided the corner. As far as I know you'd need 3" fillers next to the voided corner so cab doors+drawers on two sides of the corner can open, but if 2" can be enough, then you can have a 33" sink cab. I believe depending on the type of cab (framed--inset--frameless) you may need less fillers. An island would leave you with quite tight aisles, and block the walkway b/w the range and the fridge, so I think it will be better to have a cart/island on casters. If you need the corner for less used items you can do as deedles and have a cab on casters next to the corner....See MoreHelp with big decision!!
Comments (6)I feel almost embarassed because it seems as if I post my floors all the time. I painted my bathroom floors. I did not prime them. I painted them with a roller with Behr wall paint. Then I used a stencil and chalk paint. As I went along I did several coats of polyurethane. In all about 5 coats were applied. I did my floors a few years ago. There is no chipping at all and they still look great. Note that polyurethane will cause your floors to turn yellow over time. If you dont want that, use polycrylic. It is less durable then polyurethane but will not yellow over time. If you are worried about the outcome, use polycrylic instead of polyurethane. I used polycrylic initially and didnt like the stencil. I scraped the entire floor up and started over. I dont think I would be able to scrape the polyurethane. To make it not look cheap or diy I suggest you stencil on top of the paint. A plain painted floor is noticeable imo. A stenciled floor is not noticable at all. I dont think most people realize my floor is painted....See More- 6 years ago
