Comments (16)Here's how I've been dealing with forwards including any kinds of threats/IF's. First of all, I've not sent any out to relatives and friends and everyone in my contact list should know by now I'm hating those. Sometimes messages are nice, just don't have to include a threat--especially the dreaded one from a priest in SA, worst is saying if you don't forward something bad might happen to your family, now that's the pits- add worries about family. If I should forward such things, which friends don't send to friends...and they delete it, God forbid something bad happens, not as a result of it, I might blame myself for sending such mail. Haven't had the one from SA in a few years and hope I never do. What I've been doing, forwarding any such forwards to SPAMMERS- there are usually a few around, so it hopefully thins out eventually. My pet peevee sometimes-people have no time to say hello--sending too many forwards, even 3 personal words would be better...however, not upset about it -to each their own. Hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day, tell them you love 'em, often...tell it to as many people as you feel like, if you don't heed this advice a bed bug might bite you. Comments (25)Nhbaskets, I love my UPS driver. I've posted here recently about him. Last Christmas was my first direct encounter with him after his delivered my package to the wrong address (he was very upset about it). His professionalism and demeanor so affected me that I called his supervisor to let him know. This year I would like to give him a gift. I read online that UPS discourages money, but does not forbid it. Does your son get gifts and if so, anything in particular that he appreciates? I'm planning on writing a letter to his supervisor so he will have something for his personnel file, but I want to give him something as well. I already plan on getting him a big box of dog treats as a bit of a joke...he stops and leaves a treat on my front porch for my dog, even if he doesn't have a package for us and is just passing by so I'm sure he goes through lots of dog treats. Any suggestions for him personally?...See MoreA rant and a question
Comments (15)Wow, that's exactly the kind of crap I'm talking about. What a sense of entitlement! And yes, I did offer it to the person who had the next highest bid and I couldn't get them to respond to me. He said he would buy it if they didn't want it. Then when I got no response, he acted like the other bidder was OBLIGATED to buy it, which is ridiculous. I told him the other bidder knew what they were willing to pay and stopped at that point, and for all we know he may very well have gone online and ordered one or bid on another one when he lost that auction. Then when I told him he needed to pay for it (as he said he would if the other bidder didn't take it), then his computer crashed and he would have to get a new computer so that he could pay for it. Wait, you can afford a computer and not a $30 plant? Hmm. At this point, I realized that this was a guy who, about a month earlier, I had dealt with here - someone I had offered the exact same species to - I had three of them, different sizes, and I offered them for $15, $19 and $25. He picked the middle one, then when I gave him the total with shipping, he whined that he couldn't afford it and he was buying it for his birthday, which he was going to be spending all alone because his sis was traveling and none of his other relatives would travel the 5 miles to see him...blahblahblah. I felt sorry for him and offered him a small start of the same species, one I would normally grow out and sell later, for $10 WITH shipping, and THAT was even too much. I had told him, well if you change your mind, the offer stands. So once I figured out this was the same guy, I just told him that I would let it go and report to eBay to try to get them to not make me pay the fees. Oh no, he didn't want me to do that! It was obvious that this is his M.O. I later learned that other eBay sellers have banned him from their auctions, so that's what I did. I saved every e-mail to warn other eBay sellers. It was a nightmare. People like this can make you go postal! LOL! Denise in Omaha...See MoreFedex rant and random marinade recipe
Comments (32)I have a food subscription for my Tovala oven (so I'm guaranteed that there are two nights per week when we don't eat chips and ice cream for dinner) and, yes, one for my dog. Tovala is weekly, pup's is bi-monthly, both Fed Ex. Boxes are marked FOOD - keep refrigerated etc. My Fed Ex driver leaves them in the back side of the barn, about 1/8 mile from the house. If the door is down, because of inclement weather, packages may or may not get walked around the corner to the barn's "people door" that is covered by a roof. Last summer, I left a big standing sign asking for house delivery of a food package and the box was left next to it. Luckily, both vendors are good about notifying me of delivery. UPS comes up the driveway to the house. A couple weeks ago, I was in the barn when the Fed Ex driver made a delivery. She asked me a horse question, and it turned out she had just rescued a Belgian mare from an auction kill pen. I looked at photos, agreed the community that had dumped the mare was notoriously hard on their horses, and we had a lovely conversation. She still leaves packages in the barn but I'm going to guess it's tougher to deliver for Fed Ex than UPS?...See Morebob_cville
