Seeing my grandson tomorrow

I have one grandchild. a 2 yr old boy. They live 200 miles away and I haven't seen him for 2 months. They are coming tomorrow to visit for the weekend. I am so happy. I bought a new swing seat for the outside swing set at my house because I think he's too big for the infant one I had. I also picked up one of those turtle sandboxes from the Facebook marketplace for him.

Yep, grand-kids are the best. It is so nice being the adult that says "sure you can have another cookie " instead of the mean mom saying "no you can not have another cookie". I am lucky mine are all local. I am having the 3 of them all weekend. 2,3,and 5 years old. By Sunday I will be dead tired, but happy. Have a great time with your grandson.

So sorry to hear he is in such discomfort. Wishing the best for the change in treatment. Last year around this time, my DD's good friend was going thru the same thing and due to an infection while her system was so low, we almost lost her. Many people on this forum were wonderful in their support at that time and I really believe all the positive energy helped her pull thru. She is now back at school (part time) and talking about taking part in a 24 hour relay fundraiser for cancer in the spring. Life is never the same for these kids, but their strength and resilience is amazing. I will pray for the best for your grandson.

Well, this is the end of the first day. Just put the older one down at 8pm and had to install a night light for him too. He does fine in his mom's room these days, but with her not there tonight to sleep in the same room, he needs a night light. He used to sleep in his uncle's room right next to the bathroom, but this is the newest sleeping arrangement since the holidays when all the bedrooms were full. I loved rocking the 2 year old and singing songs before putting him down. Don't get to do that much and probably not for much longer. Maybe by then, our older son will provide us with a grandchild. He is marrying in September. We got out the Bristle Blocks I have saved for over 30 years. I was pleased to see that they were selling them again by the time the grands were born. Mr. Potato Head has been put together several different ways today, and the Fisher Price 30 year old barn, animals and farmer family are scattered about too. My back aches! Should be fine by morning.

You explained it better Rita. You do have to sign up, but it's free. Nathan loves to fish, can you tell? He always puts them back after he catches them. He is also a fantastic wrestler. He made the varisty team as a Freshman this past year. Like his mom says, "He our fighter." He also played soccer, and is pretty good at that too. He just loves sports. (I also check out another Care Page on LonnieBubba. He's a young 42 or 43 year old guy from my home town, who was T-boned at an intersection, by a 17 yr. old kid who ran the stop sign. It rolled his pick-up 3 or 4 times, and he was life flighted to the University Hospital in Omaha, and is fighting his way back to walk again. He wasn't expected to live. But he has really been fighting a good battle to recover his mobility.) Leslie

Those are so cute..I hope his visit to the hospital goes well. Kids are great at following parents leads if they themselves don't make a fuss. I am amazed at how many kids are wearing masks without an ounce of seeming to be self-conscious about it.

Enjoy your little guy while you can....they don't stay that way long. Mine are from 17 to 27 and are a different kind of joy. I miss the days when I could sit and rock and read to them.

Enjoy every precious moment you have with him and take LOTS of pictures and videos. My 6 grands are 5-20. I so loved those early years. . . . .

I'm so happy for you, Rose, that you will have this time with your grandson. I echo what everyone else has said, enjoy him! My grands are from 14 to 36, and the times when they were so little, and I could hold them, snuggle them, read to them, play games with them, seems such a short amount of time that happened so long ago. Now I have great grands, from almost 2 to 12, but I don't get to have nearly as much time with them has I had with their dads. Life changes as we grow older.
