If you have your SI in too much light the leaves will get very soft almost like they are melting and they will not be the rich green color that they are, it has a almost yellowish tinge to it when this occurs, too little light the leaves will turn brown and fall off until there is nothing left. Mine has never brown spotted so I am not sure what that is from. sometimes a little rippage of the roots doesn't hurt anything, kind of freaks you out though doesn't it? LOL! Swedish Ivy have very fast growing roots during the summer, they get big in a hurry so you really have to pay attention, in Winter they slow down so you won't have to be doing a root check every 2 weeks anymore:)

Hi Peaches, I don't grow any plants outside simply b/c I don't want to loose them when I set them out or more so risk getting bug infestation. The only advise I can give is perhaps the drastic temperature fluctuation. I planted creeping thyme ouside one summer and decided to try it indoors, it didn't make it. . . I have a huge swedish ivy plant I started from cuttings a few years ago. It gets morning (indoor) sun, I take it to the bathtub when the leaves start to loose their gloss. Nothing special. I have tried to move it to a different window, and it threw a fit so I don't move it anymore. . . Hope this helps. . . oh, I don't think the heated floor is helping much either, that means the roots are warm all the time. . . not good for any plant I'd say. . . Good luck, Maid

there is a houseplant forum .. and you might get a lot of good info in that forum.. about growing things indoors ... personally ... i would add the word PROPAGATION to the latin name.. and get a couple new plants going ... just in case this one fails ... how long has it been in that pot ... i am wondering whether the media is starting to fail.. leading to watering issues ... but before i would repot it.. i would get other pieces rooted ... also.. the move could have shocked it a bit.. but i doubt it would be this severe.. since you didnt slam it into full sun.. from relative darkness ... ken ps: australia.. doesnt know what cold is.. lol ...

Hi all, I have Plectranthus Purpuratus (Purple Swedish Ivy) and I placed it indoor, near a big door that faces a balcony. The balcony is Australian south facing. It is still bright but no direct sunlight. The ivy was thriving, but in the last few weeks it has developed brown spots and now the leaves are not are hard anymore. They are very lumpy and turning yellow. I attached a few pics below. Not sure if it’s because of the (lack of) direct sunlight or overwatering or because it is getting cold (winter) in Australia. I heard it’s very easy to grow his plant indoors. So, any tips are appreciated! I really don’t want to kill this gorgeous purple beauty! :(
