THANK YOU, everyone! And Oaktown, those pictures are awesome... I really appreciate you taking the time to post them. I think I need to clarify. The porch in question is a side porch not the front door. I have porches that run along the entire front and side of the home. The porch in question is a dining porch and will most likely have little cafe tables and is an "entertaining space." My thought with the fans was, if I put them in the doorways, will it help with airflow into the dining room and parlor while also circulating air on the porch but not directly over the eating tables. Does that make sense? Now that I type this out though, I realize I'm a huge dork. I wouldn't want the doors open because of the bugs. If I want airflow into the dining room, maybe I should put the fans by the windows instead since the windows will have screens. Does airflow even work that way? Does circulating the air directly outside the window help pull in air for cross-breeze (obviously with windows open on the other side of the home)? I really need to stop obsessing about every little thing... this building from scratch is KILLING me! LOL.

It was fun reading all of this, especially since it goes back to '06. That first post of Lars with the cherry cream soda...yummmy. I only consume coffee if it's ice cream, Kahlua or some other dessert. I like tea, black, green, but not any spiced teas. Really dislike mint too. Mostly I drink flavored unsweetened seltzer, iced tea or lemonade. Occasionally I'll have a fruit soda, but I find them too sweet these days so I mix them with my seltzer. Alcohol? Not really. Don't like wine as a rule. I can deal with a little champagne or Asti. Will drink vodka, that Kahlua making it a Black Russian. Smiles. I can go several years or more without having any alcohol. Last year I turned my current [at the time] vodka into vanilla. This fall an old friend from high school came to visit and brought a bottle of vodka. I had 2 light Cape Cods and when he left I turned the Svedka into vanilla. LOL. In winter in the evening we either have hot tea or hot cocoa often. I do love hot chocolate made with cocoa or even a nice chocolate bar.

The Moroccean chandelier would appeal to DH but I want something "lighter". Thanks for thinking of it! I happen to like the Edison chandelier too. I'm just not feeling the bronze though I know it would go over my table. Hence, my dilemna I mentioned earlier. Still don't know... can I/should I mix finishes? I do think a wood one would work. Especially since I already do have the bar stools. They were one of my crazy craigslist finds. I paid for all four for half the cost of one and they are essentially new. Just an unbeliveable deal and I fell madly in love with them. Since they will be on the sunroom side I"m hoping I can still put in a slimline couch/chaise whose materials will tie into the barstools. Down here there is a plethora of indoor/outdoor furniture that fits that bill. So now we'll have to bill my home a Mid 20th Century (hey! I'm mid 20th century!)contemporary earthy tropcial touches and a clean line feel! Here's a couple of others I had found and marked. BUt I sitll don't know about them... that's why I need you guys. This one I can get in a number of finishes including SS or Mahogany> This one combines wood, SS, and glass: I had found another kinda similar that the globes were kinda clear with what looked liked reeds inbedded but they were acrylic and I don't knwo how I feel about acrylic. So, jsut to clarify... what about mixing finishes? Crud.. won't imbed. I hate usind DH's computer.. mine is down. I've decided to go with the ceiling fan. Sort of goes with the tropical-ish theme in there. I will definitely save the current light fixture since it matches others in the house and a future owner might want it. The dangling light fixture just wasn't right in there. I'll post a pic when it's up. Spitfire: the paint color is Ben Moore Pearl Harbor (2565-50). It was on the walls (some of them) when I moved here and I really like it. It is a peach sort of color IRL, but very changeable with lighting, etc. The paint can I have is dated 2004, so not sure if it is still a color they have. I'm going to paint my dining area off the kitchen in the same color. Thanks everyone for your advice...I'm sure I'll be back for more eventually. A few other areas in my home need some work. Judy
