It's a BM color - but used SW paint Summer Nights Reads a bit brighter in person. Blues are hard - but I am really happy with this. First time I've ever had blue in any home I've owned!

I love your room. Two sofas or loveseats perpendicular to a fireplace is simply gorgeous. I have a "very important question," LOL. Where did you move the fish tank? I have a 12-gallon all enclosed tank similar to yours. I'm working on shoehorning it into the living room before winter. It will hold one Beta fish and a half-dozen or so Raspbora tetras, my favorite small tank combo.

I think because first identified yourself as a "pro" in your initial post you left yourself open for more critical comments. Usually we are more gentle with people who are decorating their first home. Do you open and close your curtains for privacy? I would try hanging them straight to see if you like them that way. Straight curtains will give a room a more contemporary look.

Ditto what nosoccermom said! Buying new pillows obviously, so why not point a client in a direction that takes a room from amateur to professional? Pillows can always be returned if the client hates them. With a dark brown sofa, you could add pillows with pattern, texture, and color that would take it to the next level. Right now, you're certainly improving things, and with a bit more work it will take it to the professional level. The current artwork above the sofa is so bland, and art can be had that's affordable for anyone at places like Home Goods, Ross, Marshalls, Ikea, etc. Here are a couple photos of LR with dark sofa that show you how to brighten and make the room more welcoming.
