Furniture Design Dilemma living room

Help living room layout!!

I need all the help!! our front door opens to our living room and it is an open concept house with vaulted ceilings!! I have no clue how to place the furniture or where to put the TV! I must have moved all the furniture around 10 times! We are buying a new rug, sectional? Doing builtins? But I have no clue where to place everything!!! MY BRAIN HURTS! All the suggestions are gladly welcomed!!!!!

When you walk through the front there is a natural path that walks right from living room to Kitchen to dining room.

I move the TV and console in front of the window. I know that will block light but I don't see many other functional options. I would then remove the excess table and chair. For a place for drinks I would add a thin console table for behind the couch, similar to this... I would also remove the small little rug and get a large rug to fill the space. I would keep this space fairly bare as to not overwhelm. I'm also wondering what your light fixture looks like?? I would add something sculptural as well, since everything else will be very clean and minimal. Hope this helps!

congrats on the new home. that space is quite tight... wondering what the adjacent room is being used for and wondering if it would be a better place for the living room? possibly use the entry room as a dining area.... put built in Lshaped bench seating under the window and the wall next to the stairs. add a round table??? something like this

Sheer curtains for the windows. Layout will be tricky because of the FP and the heater/ radiator. I think we’re looking at a couch on the wall with that radiator. Maybe a console behind it to block the box. Or a couch lengthwise. Facing the door. A rug, coffee table, maybe a bench or some chairs. Start with what you can. Very charming home. Love it

I would move the TV to the opposite wall. Right now it is in the traffic pattern from the front door. Get a wider TV console more in proportion to the wall. A sofa and 2 swivel chairs would be better than a sectional. Use painters tape and tape out an 8x10 and 9x12 area rug. You want the front legs of the sofa and chairs to be on the rug. Having the sofa face the long wall will create a walkway behind it through to the kitchen. Put a runner there that coordinates with the larger rug. Put a narrow console table on the wall where the TV is now with a piece of art above it. Windows look great.

Thank you! We have been thinking about doing built ins on the wall opposite the tv is currently on and putting the tv in the middle of that! I love the idea of a runner behind the tv.

Do you think a coffee table would be a good idea?

I have no clue why our builder put the cable outlet where the tv currently is ‍♀️

I would get the cable outlet changed to the opposite wall. Rather than built ins I would check out the IKEA Besta System.

I would get the sofa and chairs and TV placement before deciding on coffee table size. You may want the chairs in front of the windows or on each side of TV.
