Who Makes Stylish Swivel Chairs?
Comments (20)I recently was watching Sarah Richardson on TV, and she said had swivel mechanisms put on a pair of vintage chairs she had found for the room she was doing. She said the cost was about $150. You may want to check with an upholsterer to see how easy it is to put them on. The upholsterer could tell you what kind of base you need on the chair in order for them to add it. Definitely check out Les' link to Lee Furniture. All of my upholstered pieces are from them, and they are wonderful. I have chairs with the wheels, they do mark up my hardwood floors and are a bit hard to turn on my rug. I did get a Lee slipcovered swivel glider for Emmas' nursery that I love. It is a wingback style, model #138-01. It's in the Coveralls section of their site. Good luck on your search! Comments (18)LOL, Bbstx, the manufacturer went out of business this year so you're safe. Serena and Lily carry Lee brand chairs and they have 20% off sales, if you wait. Their shipping is high, but I've never compared the chairs with 20% off and delivery with other vendors' prices. Also, if you go with CR Laine or Century, make sure you get a quote from Lexington Furniture in Kentucky. I have found their prices much cheaper than others--$375 PER CHAIR less than Furniturelandsouth on some Laneventure chairs we got a couple of years ago....See Morelooking for a home for two chairs- opinions please (many photos)
Comments (22)Pretty chairs, but in the sitting area they look as though they've been brought in as extras. They'd look less so with back and seat padding. this would require sewing skills or having them made, which could be cost prohibitive. Something I must remind myself of occasionally: just because I have it and like it, does not mean I must always have it out. How about keeping one, add a good looking seat cushion and a throw over the back, and store the other. Oh! How about keeping them at the table and buying slipcovers for them( with a pad tucked underneath), and voila! You have the look you want without buying new upholstered chairs.Must say, I'm not sure where this type of slipcover can be found...Ballards, maybe?...See MoreWhich swivel fabric would you choose for swivel chair to go w leather?
Comments (3)Based on what I see you have far too much furniture in the space, I assume the area is not on the order of 23 to 25 feet in each direction? With a dual recliner sofa, the center ottoman is redundant and in my opinion you have two too many chairs in the space. One sofa, two chairs and that's it - plus side tables But that's not hard and fast, scale drawings are needed to know for sure. Perhaps don't buy everything at once - start with the sofa and two chairs, then get it in the space and go from there....See MoreLinda
