Everyone loves this color of tan. It is not pink/green/yellow. I found this color in the model home my sis bought and had it colormatched at OSH. Easy Living Gallon 7986. C- 0.3 L- 0.66 plus 1 This is what stamp says. I tried making this color about 5 times when I saw it in her house. She liked the red I used in my living room so much she used it in her dining room. We like all the same colors, she is just more formal and I am more contemporary. The granite is similar to Uba Tuba that so many use. This one just has more black and tan in it. DH is just concerned that the upper area is so stark right now. He says if we want to make any changes, now is the time.

I'd recommend staying away from the blue. We tried some blues with our stone. In the kitchen we had a light blue on the small wall area around the sink window and it was much better when we repainted to white. The stone has so many blues. Also the color of blue from the stone changes in a different way with light than the paint color does. That makes it really difficult to find a blue that goes with and enhances the stone. The blue paint just seemed to by trying to hard to match and not succeeding. On the other hand, the Fragrant Cloves warm reddish brown works well with the blues and references the rust tones in the stone. That is similar to the effect that we get with the natural cherry cabinets around our stone.

Those are great, CeleryGirl. I guess I am going to think about adding the wider window on the right only. The one that's there doesn't open and it's too close to the fireplace. Do you all think the window on the right should be the same height as the front window? Should I ignore the ceiling slope or should I incorporate some detail over the fireplace that goes straight up to the ceiling?
