Tide Total Care Liquid: I'd like to try something else, but what?
Comments (27)rococogurl: "Seeing your photo, I'd ask if you have enough detergent in there. Almost no suds at all! " We tend to run three washes through the machine, with different settings, in a cycle: (1) underwear plus kitchen clean-up cloths and towels, (2) colored laundry, and (3) sheets, pillow cases, and bathroom towels. The wash that I photographed was the underwear/kitchen cycle, the only one of the three that washes in hot water; the other two (warm water) washes get the same borax, but do not get the oxygen bleach, and they produce no more suds than that one does. The Vaska dose was up to the bottom of, but not fully covering, the fill line in the cap of the Vaska jug. It has got our clothes fully clean in every wash cycle that we have put it through so far....See MoreLiquid Chlorine Bleach
Comments (56)Bea, Hi! I also don't see an activator in the Tide with Oxi which would make it a more color safe option for those that want to use oxy in non whites. Are you saying Tide regular powders are the same as TWB? Tell me what benefits you had from adding peroxide with TWB? More stain removal? Better whitening? I bet the vinegar in your rinse helped neutralize any remaining residues which I know has been an ongoing problem for you. Glad you found a work around....See More"THANK YOU" TO THE PERSON THAT MENTIONED TIDE + BLEACH POWDER
Comments (27)Oh my, did I create a stir! Lol. So I fill the instant pot up about half way with cold water, then add a little STPP to soften it. After about a minute or so I will add about 1tsp of Tide Liquid . Reasoning for this is because the enzymes will work in the warm water and eat any protein stains, etc out . Once this is mixed, I will add the washcloths and sometimes socks. I will turn it on to the Yogurt setting on 'less" which keeps the temperature quite low (~90ºF). I will let this soak for about 24 hrs, and keep stirring whenever I am around. After that period, I will turn it on to a higher setting and let it boil. At that point I do add some pure sodium percarbonate (raw oxiclean) and Tide Powder for a jumpstart. Typically I will let these sit in the IP for about an hour and let the oxygenated bleach power through the dingies! I then will wash these items with other whites like normal. Yes, people laugh about it when they see it, but I don't need to use bleach, and my whites still look good....See MoreTide Free/Clear Powder vs Tide With Bleach Powder
Comments (12)FWIW, my boxes of All F/C powder w/stainlifters and Tide F/C powder both have enzymes listed in the ingredients . That same Tide F/C powder also has "Color safe bleach - sodium carbonate peroxide" listed on the side, so I avoid that one for dark colors. There might not be enough to make a difference, since it is not described as a "w/bleach" formula, but why test the fates? LOL I can't tell much difference between the two, but our clothing doesn't get very dirty, either. Hubby's sweaty golf clothing (poly wicking fabric) has come out really clean this summer, with the liquid All F/C stainlifters "odor relief". That inherent "funk" is gone. . . or sufficiently diminished to where it is not noticeable....See More- 4 years ago
