What does a craving for hot peppers mean?
Comments (21)"Posted by harleysilo 7 Roswell,GA (My Page) on Mon, Apr 2, 07 at 12:24 Smoking? You mean like smoking some beef right?" Yeah, what we do is cold smoke with your faviorite brand of wood and or spices like a dash of Rosemary or Basil and then finish them off in a food dehydrator of a real low oven till they are nice and dry and then take a good spice grinder and turn them into a powder. It's great stuff to have in a little shaker bottle when you need to boost the heat level. Plus if you do some large batches you can also use one of those vaccume sealers and seal and freeze the larger part of it so it will last a long time. Safety note...Best do the grinding outside as there's a little blow back when grinding, powdered peppers are just like tear gas, fact is powdered Habenero has been banned in 19 countries by the Geneva convention. I guess powdered Trinidad Scorpion would be a WMD....See MoreCravings
Comments (13)I have a terrible confession to make. Like many people, one of my favorite parts of baking is eating raw batter or dough. In fact, it may be the best reason to bake, period. So, periodically I crave a bit of brownie dough, but I really don't want to bake a batch of brownies and then slowly eat them one by one. I happened to have a box of Ghirardelli double chocolate brownie mix, the smaller size for an 8x8 pan. I popped open the box, took out a heaping spoonful, put it in a small bowl and added a bit of water to make a batter consistency. Never mind the egg or oil. I ate it and it satisfied my craving. Well, it didn't happen overnight, or even once a day, but I went through that entire box in the same fashion until it was gone. It did take awhile. It didn't kill me. This happened recently, not when I was a teenager....See MoreAntihistamine and cravings
Comments (3)Irma, I have taken Claritin-24, but rarely. I only take it if I can't function because of runny nose/eyes and feeling miserable. Otherwise I use Flonaise spray to stop the sneezing and running nose. I have a lot of allergies and also live in Florida and am a gardener. Having moved here from NY 6 years ago, I've never been more miserable! Not sure what it is but something here drives my allergies crazy. Since I only take Claritin infrequently, I've never had what you describe. I am a cookie/cake person anyway and try to control it. I can't blame it on anything I'm taking! One thing I discovered purely by accident is Benadryl. Never used it for allergies because it makes you sleepy. But, I have a lot of trouble with sleep. I've taken prescription meds for sleep for many years which worked well, but decided I wanted to stop taking them. I bought over the counter sleep aids and most contain Benadryl. I didn't realize it at the time. Well, Benadryl helps me fall asleep but I notice it also takes care of my allergies the next day. I can actually wake up in the morning without sneezing and runny nose. Took me a while to figure out it has to be the Benadryl sleep aid I take before bed. Maybe try Benadryl before going to bed and see if it carries over the next day and saves you from raiding the cookie jar! Jane...See MoreCraving a dark and moody wallpapered dining room.
Comments (8)At first I thought the picture was an inspiration picture you wanted to re-create. It certainly could be! Like Patricia, I don't see the living room as being light and bright. You have the dark woodwork, mantle area, and coffee table, so from what we can see in the picture it looks like you'd have enough dark elements in the living room to tie in with a dark and moody adjacent dining room. Hope you'll share pictures of whatever you end up doing....See Morealbert_135 39.17°N 119.76°W 4695ft.
