How to get rid of virus when you can't get online?
Comments (25)Hi zep516, How did you know beanwabr was infected with Palladium Pro? I could not find out any info about this from beanwabr. You said my link leaded to a possible infected web site? I can tell you that this site (teesupport.com) is safe. I know this because this site keeps posting blogs (http://blog.teesupport.com/) for virus removal and legit applications uninstall instructions each day. Teesupport starts its blogs for over one year and some of blogs are even listed on the top search on Google. I do not think Google will allow sites that will damage your computer to exist for such a long time. I have also tested this site using online anti-virus scanners from various security vendors and all test show that it is a safe site. What is more, as far as I know, TeeSupport is an online company to provide remote tech support and they receive payment via PayPal or Safe Cart. Will a virus maker dare to receive payment via PayPal or Safe Cart? Talking about spam..There is a very interesting thing. See two latest posts from two different sites here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-master-utilities http://www.citruscomputers.com/2011/09/01/remove-master-utilities-uninstall-guide/ "Your computer should now be free of the Master Utilities program. If your current anti-virus solution let this infection through, you may want to consider purchasing the PRO version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to protect against these types of threats in the future." -- This is the bleeping computer site that you won't doubt. I know bleeping computer site very well and I like it so much as you guys and I just want to list an example here to support my opinion. So far, I don't think there is any pure site without promoting anything. My principal is to choose info that I need and ignore the unwanted info on the internet. If a site does not force you to buy anything in an illegal way like rogue software and it can provide you some useful info, then that is not a bad site. By the way, I admit that sometimes I will buy things from the internet because of those sites' promotion but I don't think it is bad because they provide useful things to me and I think they deserve my payment for hard work of making such useful things. Enjoy the internet! Regards, Alan_hoicns...See MoreHow do you get rid of old appliances?
Comments (18)We've had much better luck with Craig's List than free cycle. For appliances, we sold them on Craig's list - we actually got lucky with the frig and oven and found people in the wanted sections and negociated a reasonable price/no hassle and that was it. Sold the dishwasher. Gave away a few cabinets, threw away a few (disassembled/left by the curb/cut up to smaller pieces). We tried Habitat - they first didn't come, then came and didn't take much... never will use them again. Frecycle folks are usually a hassle - want you to deliver, don't have a truck, can't lift themselves, and lots of drama but that's just our experience. We haven't had to rent a dumpster - we just slowly throw stuff away - get good trash bags and load up 2-3 trash cans each week. Sometimes we'll move one over toward the neighbor so they can't tell whose it is... she wouldn't mind if we put it at her end nor would several others as she has the same house we do and loves what we are doing. For windowes (example), we threw out 3-5 sections each week for how ever many weeks and it worked out fine. Saved dumspter fees and a trip to the dump - neighbor was going to try to get rid of them too but why bother him....See MoreHow can I get rid of these water rings on my AB granite??!!!
Comments (17)Here's what one site says about checking if the granite was dyed. "Take a clean white rag and apply some acetone to the surface of the granite. If any residue or black color is observed on the top, it has been dyed. If you get no dye from the acetone, then take some MEK(Methyl Ethyl Ketone) and apply it to a different part of the slab. If you get any color transfer, the stone is dyed. These chemicals can be purchased at most home improvement or paint supply stores." Did you see the rag after the fabricator tried the acetone? I would do my own test before he comes back. Here's a link below to the whole article. You might also try posting your photo and concerns on this board. Comments (17)I never thought I could do without a dishrack, but I am about there. I changed to a very tiny dishrack (about 6 x 12 inches) a few years ago in my still very not-updated kitchen, and I find I probably don't even need that. The key, as noted above, is have really great places where everything goes, plus keep some counter space free. I re-vamped my cookware collection, so even in my ugly kitchen, each pot or pan has its spot. So it's very easy to dry a few handwashables and put away. I do use dishtowels and get a clean one each evening for any such dishes and rotate it to be the hand towel and just get fresh towels as often as I think I need to--it's just as easy to wash a dozen as a half. I think I finally got the picture when I realized that with the old dishracks, you either had an empty dishrack or you had items just sitting there for 12-24 hrs and it saved almost no time in the long run. When you don't have the dishrack, you have space, and in the space you can set a pan or a few glasses for a few minutes, then clear. I currently have a ceramic cooktop (I like it!) and it's part of the system, too. I move the pots & pans to the sink area to wash, and clean the cooktop nicely, and then it's space too for setting the clean skillet to dry for a few minutes. Take a few minutes to think about what habits are easiest for you to make or break, what time & motions work best for you, what storage you might need to rearrange to make some of that work better, and you will find a way to not use a dishrack/drainer....See Moremillworkman
