How do I get rid of the dishrack (or is that drying rack?)

I got what I loved - a vintage wall hing drainboard sink. The thing about it is:

1) its a single bowl

2) I LOVE the look of it with NOTHING ON THE DRAINBOARD

A dishrack gives you something with stucture to let your larger items (read: non-dishwasher) lay without having a leaning tower of dishes. In my house, these are usually cast iron pots and frying pans, which will surely crack my slate floor if they go for a tumble. That said, I really really don't want to put a drying rack for dishes out.

Does anybody have any creative ideas?
