Moving plants indoor 2 outdoor
Comments (4)Hi Sanjna..how much sun does your fire escape get? If it's direct sun, it might burn..Pothos thrive in medium light, and placing it in direct sun would either burn or fade foliage. Your Pothos has been in the same pot 5-6 yrs? What type of pot is it in? What size? Do you see roots atop the soil or growing out of drainage holes? If you answer yes to the last two questions, then it needs a larger pot. Oh btw, why would you bring the Pothos back indoors at night? If you decide to place it on the fire escape, leave it there 24/7....Warmth during the day and cooler air at night helps plants. BTW, if you dicide to set outside, do so on a cloudy day..Cloudy days = stronger light than what it's used to getting. But wait for a wk where they predict rain and sun is behind clouds..Good luck, Toni...See MoreTwenty year old Grapefruit plant indoors, in Montana!
Comments (38)Pay no attention to the (men & women ) behind the curtain. The great poncirusguy has spoken. SIZE DOES NOT MATER. It looks great. Grapefruit trees are know for their beauty and dark green leaves. Don't push it to grow now. Let it grow this summer. You are already getting what what you most want, incense and sentiment. When grapefruit is in season is sells for $0.40 / pound and when it is out of season your tree wont have any either. Check out the link below for people growing in containers to see what you might have to do to get fruit. Comments (54)I have had fruit from 4/11 of my avocado varieties. They will all flower in the season as mine are grafted. Not all hold fruit if they are to young and drop them. But that is not true for everyone. There are many factors that play into a tree holding fruit set including weather, temperature, pollination etc....... I've known people who have had 2-3 year old trees that were grafted produce fruit and hold on the tree. I'm one of them who did so in containers with a Mexicola and Wurtz. You can see them in the Avocado forum under container trees. My Wurtz ( Little Cado ) has 30 plus fruit on it this year and is in a 24inch box and my Mexicola is in a raised bed now and I'm expecting it to fruit this year and several other trees that are now in the ground. I will update the group this summer. I'm expecting fruit from my Fuerte, Pinkerton, Stewart, Bacon, Mexicola and Wurtz. My other trees are still to young....See MoreMeyer Lemon Tree: Overwinter Indoors or Out in zone 6b?
Comments (4)In 6b I will be safe into January an if the weather forecast is for 15F or less my trees would come in. I grew my tangerine trees from seed for rootstock. They were un graft able so if they die, that is it. My yard is not suited for bring trees in and out with weather. My parents house was and I would have done things outside with carry ins. I have to work with what I have as others work with their settings. Unprotected citrus a 0F is a no go, I agree. It was after I planted my Meyer lemon out side that I found out it was Cuban Shaddock. Even that is its own blessing to work with....See MoreAlanna Migliacci
