Guava tree - container grown from seed
Comments (18)Hello everyone, I have a question , about 10 years ago I have bought some papaya from Florida. I put some seeds in a container on my patio wher I had a young blueberry bush. About 4 years later when the bush got bigger I planted it in the ground but I notice that there was new growth of limbs , with lather foliage, though somewhat similar to the blueberry bush. I tried to separate the two of them but not they were growing too close together . So I decided to let it be. It was a fast growing tree that grew about 1ft a year and required some pruning. This year when I was pruning the lower limbs I notice that the tree was bearing fruit. Never noticed blooms. But I am puzzled because it does not resemble any papaya fruit, and is more similar to a guava fruit, somewhat. So my question is for the experts: what kind of tree am I growing? Thank you for anyone helping!...See MoreFruit from avocado from seed
Comments (3)They will, BUT it's a gamble as to if it will be a good fruit or straight crap. But if you do, be confident... My father grew his tree from a seed and 10 years later, it grew one of the best florida avos I've ever had. So it will be hit & miss. Who knows, maybe you will come up with a new variety!...See MoreNeed help with 5yr old lemon plant - indoor 2 outdoors
Comments (6)Hi Josh, I’d listen to John’s pruning advice, but I might wait until you put it outside, since it’s nearly that time anyway. There’s always diffferences of opinion on potting mediums here, but as long as your managing your watering properly, that’s the most important thing. If it hasn’t been repoted in a while, I’d suggest repoting it in fresh, quick draining medium. Be sure to barefoot the plant before adding new potting medium. Also, you should start a fertilizing regimen. Most of us use foliage pro dynogrow because slow release granular fertilizers aren’t designed for container plants (although some of us do it anyway)....See More5 yr old avocado tree grown from seed
