Faucet location for d shaped sink in corner cabinet

I know that there is not a lot of love for corner sinks in this forum, but our kitchen was very short on the runs of walls and this was one way to get everything in with enough counterspace on both sides of the sink, the stove and on one side of the fridge.

We have a 36" corner sink base with a d-shaped sink. The kitchen designer said that was the largest sink for the corner cabinet. When we picked out the granite they told us that we needed to have the faucet for templating and that we needed to have a one hole faucet on the side (this was the showroom salesperson who prepared the papers to reserve our slab).

We would prefer to have the faucet centered in the back (we are planning a one hole) faucet.

With a corner cabinet, in which there is plenty of room is there any reason not to put the faucet in back? My husband is over 6' and does all the dishes.

It should be in a corner. It will be quite a stretch to reach if not in a corner and they look best there. I have used one and being right handed, it worked best in the left hand corner. There are plenty of pictures on the internet with this setup.

If you've got the room, go for it. I've got a "D" sink with a centered faucet in my kitchen.

Thanks Buel, I found her picture but don't think that is the one. From what I remember the sink wasn't in a corner cabinet but a reg. cabinet. I could be crazy LOL.

I will be the contrarian here. I am right handed and have the faucet on the left as it is more "out of my way" there. I do all the work on the right side. Of course, I need to also say that the sink is at the end of the run of the counter and next to a wall in a small galley kitchen - so it also makes more sense to have it the left corner. It is really up to you and how you work at the sink. Good luck with your decision!

I have a Blanco silgranite D-shaped sink (Diamand U 1 in Canada) in a 26 1/2" cabinet. I can put my hand up either side of the sink between the bowl and the cabinet wall, so this could perhaps have been slightly narrower. The flange around the top of the sink is about 1" wide and the actual sink measures 24" across with 22" bowl. My cabinet is actually 27" deep though 1 1/4" of that is the backsplash which is the same 3 cm granite as on the counter. It was very tight, but the granite people cut the basin hole starting 3 1/2" back from the edge and there is also 3 1/2" at the back between the bowl and the back splash - just room to put the faucet in the middle of the D shape. Buehl, Studioren said a corner cabinet, so the S405 won't fit. However, I do not see why she has to go as small as 21". We fit the 30"-wide (exterior dimension) Blanco Diamondprecis silgranit sinto into our corner location. We did notch the sides of the cabinet to get it to fit. BTW, love my sink and love the corner location! But I'm in the "rectangular sink camp" and Studioren asked about a D-shape sink in a corner, but I think her question centers more about the corner factor. Really, I think 21" is too small. I suggest that Studioren post a new thread, entitled something like "What is the biggest sink to fit in a 36" CORNER cabinet?", rather than tack onto this thread which is solely about pros and cons of D-shape sinks.
