Thank you for the responses. DD and I are experiencing one of the greatest joys of a reno---figuring out how to make every half inch count. When she started on this project she knew every inch could matter and is now afraid that she will soon be down to obsessing over millimeters. She has decided that her sink size and placement is the key to her entire kitchen. If she can get the sink far enough to the right on her long wall, she can shift the DW to the left of the sink and get a trash pullout on the right. The latest iteration of the plan calls for a sink base no wider than 30" with the goal to achieve the most sink space possible and still get that DW on the left. From measuring her cookies sheets and roasting pans 22" x 15 1/2" (16" would be better) is the least rectangle that she thinks is functional. I was up into the wee hours last night looking on line and Elkay had the best website for stating exactly the minimum size base cabinet for each sink. In general, I'm estimating that an effective interior sink width of 22" would be found with an overall 24" wide sink which would then require at least a 27" wide cabinet. So the best that she can hope to get in her 30" sink base would be a 27" wide sink that has an effective interior width of 25" or so. Most brands of sinks, though, seem to jump from offering 24" wide to 30" wide with nothing in between. Has anyone seen a 27" wide sink available anywhere? Thanks, again.

Yes, glides can be ruined so prepare your cabinets accordingly. See the "Suggested Prep for Installation:" section in the linked thread below. We did it all and then for some unknown reason the granite installers removed them in a couple of cabinets and, sure enough, in one of those cabinets the glides were ruined...for all 3 drawers! The granite company tried to tell us all we had to do was use the compressed air in a can and we'd be fine...nope! The glides all had to be replaced! The sink is not Ticor. It is the freebie that the Silestone people gave me. I am happy with it but did have trouble finding a grid for it. I bought a Ticor for the island sink and really like it and the grid so then I wanted to get the grid for the big sink. I hate to say that I have not been happy with the soap dispenser. It does wiggle around and not stay anchored well. I planned on calling their customer service because somebody here said they did that and Delta replaced it and the replacement was better. I also thought about putting down some kind of caulk or silicone that might hold it more secure....just haven't done it yet. I love the stainless. Even though it is more expensive, I felt like it is worth it for long term happiness. :) After all, why scimp on something that will be used many times every day. I think I bought my faucets from efaucets - I'll have to check. I basically just searched the internet until I found the best price. I also have the Allora prep faucet for the island sink.

oldbat2be It's a bar sink, about 14" wide and 17" deep. I considered the bar version of the Karbon because it's visually smaller but it doesn't very much reach. Do you think the Karbon would be too much at the bar sink? I love love love the Karbons at my main sink - yes I put 2 in with the big Stages sink. I started looking at other faucets because I thought I should put in something visually smaller for the smaller sink and one that should fit underneath my cabinets. I have a clearance of 18" and several of the faucets that have caught my eye are taller, almost 18" and will look too large for under cabinet. Thank you for that potfiller and soap dispenser! I just ordered them.
