Don’t feel bad, I never even think to like something! No big deal

It can be a dilemma. The problem with liking everything is that then nothing is special anymore.

I always thank people who post to a thread I have started, but I admit I'm lax when it comes to liking posts or pics. If a post/photo resonates with me, I'm more likely to comment about the post or photo. More often than not I forget that we have a like feature.

Just like what you like and don't worry about the rest. I think most people understand that it's not possible to like everything.

I only 'like' things that strike my fancy, and my fancy is an expert at dodge-ball, therefore, it is struck only occasionally.

I have a hard time remembering frequently! So don't worry!

I seldom "like" anything either. For me it's usually a statement or an opinion that I totally agree with and which was well stated by the poster.

And yes, Smiles for the day are always well liked by me. :)

I don't think that I "like" things that are in response to a post I started. I try to remember to thank everyone, but I "like" things on occasions on other people's posts that folks have said. If I don't click "like" it doesn't mean I don't like it .... I've just not clicked the button. It's random for me.

Well, I think the like button is pretty silly.

I don't use it often and when I do, it is for much the same reasons as blfenton's comment - to edorse or express my appeciation for a very on-point and well expressed statement or opinion.

What I would use a whole lot more often is a "don't like" or a "you are full of cr*p" button"!! Honestly, it seems on a daily basis I see more and more random posts that are just rude or ignorant in context. Or, since I hang out mostly on the Gardening forums, a lot of blatantly inaccurate information, that if you attempt politely to correct or better inform, they just argue about. And yes, there ARE such things as dumb or stupid questions!!

I find I need to bite my tongue far more often before responding (or electing not to at all) now that GW has become part of Houzz than I ever did before the acquisition. Or maybe I am just becoming more of an old fuddy-duddy as I age :-)

I would love to remember at the end of the day to go to the Smiles For Today thread and like my favorite one. I seldom do.

You don't have to like everything everyone posts. Even on your own post, you don't have to like, thank or comment to every person that replies to something you post IMO.

I rarely like things since when you like it, you start getting ads and everyone knows too much about you. It's like opening up a door that doesn't need to be open.

JoAnn, huh? What do you mean by getting ads? I'm going to go like something to see if i get an ad. :)

I don't click like for any of that kind of stuff the article talked about. Only things from personal posts from friends and family.

I wouldn't worry about it. Like when you feel like it, and don't when you don't.

Some days I'm in more of a liking mood than others.

Rob, your answer explains something. Sometimes there is a sad kind of story and it would feel wrong to like it. So I either comment or don’t do anything.

How can anyone not like Show me yours and smiles for today. These people put time and effort into these post.
