are yellow leaves most often from overwatering?

Hello all!

I have some outdoor FLFs in pots.

The leaves are not a very green color.

I gather this is most often from overwatering? I have been more careful about that. But, they are not getting greener. How long would it take the leaves to become more green, if it is an overwatering situation?

Could it be from cold? They were also out in what is, for Southern California, some pretty cold weather. 50s, maybe even 40s. (I know this is not ideal for these plants ... I am not able to bring them inside just now. Also I wanted them to get more light.)

I could take photos if that would help, but essentially it is just that the leaves are more of light green/yellowish green color, rather than that nice deep green that they would ideally have.

Oh, and if it is from cold ... how long until they get greener? Or is it permanent?

Sorry if this is a dumb question - I did a search and didn’t see this.

Frankly ... it could also be that I don’t give them enough Foliage Pro. (I am a little unclear on how you figure out the amount ... and I always make it a bit too strong anyway.)

Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.
