HELP! (pics) Backsplash, hardware
Comments (14)mommyto4boys - The 4x4 sample tile in my picture is a tumbled marble in a 'botticino' color. The accent 2x2 is says 'cot renzaor' bronze on the back. Not sure that will be very helpful to you - sorry. I don't know if it comes in black or not. I found it at Ceramic Tileworks in MN. (www.ceramictileworksmn.com) I have been to 3 different tile places and found that the tumbled stone and marble hues are all slightly different. They look so different once I get the sample home and against the granite (and under my lighting). My advice would be to continue to look and bring home samples until you find the one that doesn't take on the 'pink'. You'll know it once you see it. I also found that each of the tile shops carried different accent pieces. Your kitchen has a little bit of an 'old world' feel with the light fixture. I like the rougher, tumbled edges of tile with that style rather than the smooth, more formal pieces. But I am far from an expert on that - which is why I'm following your post closely to see what other suggestions surface:) Good luck on your search, and please keep us posted! I'll be eager to see what you decide - and maybe change my mind on what I want:) organic nettie - I think the Ornamentale would go very well with cream cabinets and dark floor. The granite has beautiful dark brown streaks in it, along with some caramel tones and garnet flecks. The garnet flecks are very dark toned rather than bright red. I feel it ties my various wood species and stains quite well....See Moreclose to finishing remodel need HELP- hardware and backsplash
Comments (22)I would continue the carrara w/the backsplash. don't do a plain white subway. you can get carrara in subways, chevrons, herringbone, whatever. https://www.thebuilderdepot.com/bianco.html tilebar Talon Encore Ceramics has some beautiful tiles. you really need to go to their site and check out the crackle glass they do. this is just one of theirs in a silver or do a pale blue or green ceramic tile like this. nice to have some color in the kitchen. mixed polished and brushed is fine. gray/green ceramic tile in this 2x12 size is also nice....See MoreKitchen backsplash and pendant light help
Comments (7)Kala, I was trying to find those scallop designs on their, but all I see now are them in the cement. However, they do have these great colors in the 3" hex. In fact, these are on the sale page. it's a teal gray- Tempered Steel color https://www.cletile.com/collections/second-shelf/products/teal-gray-3-5-hex-1?variant= this Silver is also on the sale page some otherspending storm shattered peal tea ceremony. (these come in subways and 2 or 4" squares. I thought they came in the scallop design too. But the hex are equally nice. these would look very nice in your kitchen. they have a nice glaze finish w/varying tones.) for scallop, https://www.mineraltiles.com/search?search_query=scallop I was trying to find these, but I'm afraid they might be very expensive. Similar ones I found at Mercury Mosaics were in the $86 sf range! and the comment above, w/the Fireclay tile mosaics, are also above the $45 sf range. if you have a healthy budget, I can find you some beautiful tiles!...See MoreNew kitchen and need help with hardware/light decisions
Comments (1)You definitely don't have to do chrome for everything! You can certainly mix metals. We even have an article that gives you some advice on how to do it. Some ideas: Similarly-hued metals look good, so you could try nickel finished lights. You could also try a darker-hued finish, like bronze or even black! Or, you could even bring in something with a brass finish to create a contrast. As you see, there are a few different ways to mix metals! If you'd like to take a look at some light fixtures in these other finish ideas, let me know!...See Morekelleg69
