FWIW, When we built here ended up with about a 1500 foot gravel drive. The ground here is sand. Around here, there's something called "crusher run," which varies from 2" down to pea size. I spread that and then took a 4WD JD farm tractor and just went over and over using the tires as a roller. The big stuff went down and the smaller came up. Evened it up with a dozer blade on a GT. Couple of years later a added about two inches of regular sized gravel. Worked that in as previously described. It's held up fairly well, and yes, you do periodically have to add more gravel. In ten years have added gravel once. I plow snow with the GT and blade. The gravel has packed down and is pretty level and solid. I'd consider having the driveway graded, add more and larger gravel if what you have is small. To me, gravel driveways and snow throwers go together well. Mowing 3/4 of an acre and hauling and landscaping the balance would work well with a GT or even a hefty LT with cart. Yes, totally agree that compact 4WD would be the way to go, if price wasn't a consideration. I can't help with the original question, but I can -- somewhat -- with the "which" farmhouse sink question. Mine is a 30" Shaws, single bowl, undermount, drain about 1/3 of the way over, and it holds 2 days' worth of dishes...not that I ever let dishes pile up that badly :) I only looked at this and the Kohler, and fell in love with the Shaws. It has much chunkier sides than Kohler's, which I prefer (JMO). The two were comparably priced, about $800 each. I strongly recommend buying the Shaw's in person because each one is handcrafted (installation is a PITA), there are irregularities, and I rejected one when I went to pick it up; you don't want to be shipping a 130 lb box back at your expense if you don't like the one shipped to you. I suppose you could have a good cabinet installer build a false front "cabinet" around the front side, but I like having the big white front. Too harsh. Plus that contains insect control, which I'm not a fan of--and it's another stress on the seedlings, which are unlikely to be completely pleased with a fungicide. The first question here is...how "well beyond 10 pounds per 1,500 square feet?" Anything up to 15 is completely fine. Anything up to 20 or a bit more I doubt you'll have too much trouble with. Problems can appear at any seeding rate (I've had damp off fungus when planting 1 seed per square inch for annual propagation), but risks rise dramatically as the number of seeds per square inch rises. Weaker fungicides are fine in this particular instance as damp off fungus isn't particularly sturdy. Daconil and Triforine will both work (Daconil better than Triforine). You can even defeat damp off fungus with a little sprinkle of cinnamon powder in very small areas. Indoors, when seeding annuals, I use the cinnamon as the least toxic alternative since I have to breathe the air in here. It's impractical for lawns.

Sure looks like a grass seedling but lawn grasses - if allowed to go to seed before mowing - can spread into planting beds easily and become problematic if not controlled. So not necessarily a weed..........other than it is growing in the wrong place :-)
