Succulent ID request and closing rosette?

Bonnie Yeung

Hi! I'm guessing my succulent is an echeveria, possibly a violet queen, but I'm not too sure. A little help?

I bought this lovely plant back in February and it was doing very well. However, after a period of the weather falling to a historic low here and a dry spell, the leaves on my plant have become mushy, wrinkly, and limp while the rosette has started to close up.

Is it because of dehydration? My jelly bean sedums are in a similar state. They were starting to get really leggy so I beheaded them instead and propagated the rest.

I read that a rosette will start to close up when there is too much sun so my plan is to move this one further back in the garden under an overhang. FYI, the photos were taken indoors and not in the garden where it usually is.

I'm also going to change the soil mixture to 50:50 perlite and cactus soil in the next few days. Is there anything else I should change about my set up because I'd like to get this little one healthy and plump again :)

Thanks!
