Can you help me pick a potted plant for front porch?
Comments (3)I have a large pot on my shaded front porch filled w/ Chinese evergreen & purple tradescantia - right next to it is is a dracaena. Another nearby pot, also shaded, has a double-stalked tricolor(pink) dracaena w/ a trailing houseplant I forgot the name of. IOW, consider low-maintenance houseplantsâ¦....See MoreWhat color and style planters for our front porch?
Comments (2)Your house has a formal, elegant look to me, so I think tall, narrow pots would look nice (and fit in the space better). Or urn style. But not taupe, which would blend in too much. Maybe compromise: the shape he likes, the color you like? If you decide on shorter, round ones, I wouldn’t do a bold color. I’d do dark brown, black, or matte copper, for instance. Round plus a bright color wouldn’t match with your house style, IMO. If you decide on tall, narrow pots, they can certainly be softened up with plantings. Tall and round would look nice, too ... ———————————— Too much blending! Tell him no taupe. :D...See MoreWhat should I plant in tall planter on shady, humid porch, zone 8b
Comments (0)Hi. I purchased a 30" tall planter for my front porch and I need help deciding what to plant. It will be placed right next to my front door so it needs to look nice. I try, but I'm not great with plants so it needs to be plants that are hard to kill. (The only potted plants I have been able to keep alive and looking nice are mandevilla and angel's trumpet.) I would like it to look tropical and I like the idea of having a few different plants, like a tall palm, something colorful and something trailing. I will attach a screenshot of something I like. I have no idea what those plants are or if those are something that is doable in my area, zone 8b. If you know the names of those plants, or have similar ideas that are hardy and would work better, please let me know. I appreciate the help!...See Moreneed help for chic front porch
Comments (9)First, I would remove the wreath. Yes, you could put a short pedestal concrete planter to the right of the front door. Get a much larger front doormat that goes the entire length of the door and sidelights. I would add a very large round wrought iron medallion centered on the large siding wall. Also, your shutters are much too narrow. They should look as if they "could" almost close over the window. I would look at ones twice as wide if possible....See MoreRelated Professionals
