I am sorry you had an issue! I have BTDT with common, safe drugs making a dog or child very very ill. BUT, that being said: Having been a dog professional for 15 years I have to say I have never seen a dog have a serious reaction to Advantage (imidicloprid) and the Bayer website does not list seizure dogs are being contraindicated in its use (that I can find anyway). SPINOSAD, the drug in Comfortis IS known to trigger seizures. And is contraidicated in dogs with a history of seizures. Any medication can be toxic or create an issue in someone, but this drug (Imidicloprid) is safer than many to mammals. As I have said before, around here the city sprays so much Malathion and whatever else we have almost NO good insects left. Haven't seen a bee in a year around the shop and haven't seen any lady bugs, save 4 or 5 I saw during aphid season. I would use it if I had to, but so far the soap I used has worked.

Kaz, do you know how to convert cm's to inches? Also, you mentioned liters. Isn't liters for volumn? I'm totally confused what volumn has to do with size of pot. lol I think 15 cm's equal about 6", right? If that number is correct, what is 19 cm's in inches? lol..sorry. Aesir mentioned 5-10". 5-10" is quite an increase, but considering your tree is a foot/12", if there's not too much space between rootball and inside of pot, and if you're using well-draining soil, it should do fine. Shake Calamondin to release loose foliage. Might as well toss detached leaves. If several fall, so be it. But if by chance more leaves drop, you'll know they haven't been spliinted by neighboring leaves. It's better knowing than wondering. Keep watch, but don't pamper..remember, too much TLC works against a plants health..like overwatering. Ever read threads from people who buy a plant, the plant either loses leaves or looks sad, so they add a ton of water or worse, fertilizer! plant dies, the end. Toni

I'd probably wait until the roots are a bit longer, maybe 2 or 2.5 cm, unless they seem to have "maxed out" (i.e. they've stayed about that length for a month or longer). You definitely need to get the roots down into the "humid zone" for the plant to really take, which might be an issue with such a tall pot -- I've found that if you plant the leaf too low down in the hydro medium it'll rot before the roots fully grow in. Depending on the exact container, you might be able to work around this by using a deeper reservoir or by watering on a daily basis, at least until it's rooted and you're getting new growth. FWIW, for a small Sans, I tend to prefer a shallower pot than what you describe -- not more than 15-20 cm. I've also, to be honest, had more luck rooting full plants in hydro than individual leaves, but YMMV. (If you've managed to get the leaf to root you're doing better than I've ever done with any trifasciata variety, at least.)

Dave, hopefully this will be my last question. In reference to the back budding you mentioned above, would this occur in the areas where the leaf scars are? Or would it only occur in the axils above existing leaves? I read a post on here about a rubber tree where the owner pinched off the growing bud at the end of a branch to encourage back budding and buds appeared above leaf scars. Is that the same with all plants or does it vary? Eventually I may have to pinch back because do that because this is growing indoors and it will have to be limited in height at some point. So would back budding potentially occur in these gaps at that time? I'm hope I'm not seeming to ask the same question in a different manner - I'm just trying to understand this fully. Thanks again!
