anchoring wall mount range hood through sheetrock and duct

We remodeled the backsplash in our kitchen and wanted to upgrade the range hood. The old hood weighed about 20 pounds and was screwed directly into the drywall and the duct with 4 metal screws. No anchor. The new hood only has two screw holes to hold it up. They are about 10 3/4' apart so there is no way to use studs. The vent is down drafted so we have to screw into it.

The new hood is about 35 pounds. We thought about opening the wall behind the kitchen to add a horizontal brace, but that would block the air flow. I'm terrified of coming home to the new hood and the new tile work crumbled off the wall. Any ideas??
