It's a lovely room but I would choose a larger rug which will make the room look even more elegant and rich. A rug with a border, such as the two directly above, gives a more finished look. Also, a rug with a bit more color variation, perhaps gray or cream with a soft terracotta, would lend more life to your dining room.

I would like suggestions for rugs - 5 foot round for foyer and 9' X 11' rectangle for dining room. budget is up to $1000 for both. Preferably rug colors that would allow me to keep the stair carpet but move toward a lighter, color for the foyer and dining room rugs. Also I would like suggestions for drapes and fabric for chairs for dining room. Budget for that would be around $500.
