Help identifying this mid century chair?

We think it's a danish design. The recliner has no visible markings and was originally tweed fabric. We would love to know the designer, any ideas are welcome!

6 years agolast modified: 6 years agoLooks like a Milo Baughman............and for whomever made the chair you have. Maybe with a bit of interpretation as well. Floating arm is making me think almost any of dozens are possible. : ) Scandinavian whatever, it is lovely. Could be a Hans Wegner for all we know.

Comments (20)Helen, really thank you very much for your input. Helped a lot to research more. I am not expert either of course and I just try to gather information that many times is confusing. I will definitely do as you suggest to contact galleries and auction houses to see if they are interested in the objects. Now I am in the documentation/research phase. Oliviag, very correct your remarks. This is what I think as well. There is something Grecian/Neoclassical but the angels and gold colors make it more baroque/rococo. The Hollywood regency term is also very interesting. I will look on that. Bisque term is also something new to me. Thanks! Also thank you for the condolences. Much appreciated. Indeed she had a great influence to my life, her, as well as all the products that I used to observe when I was little and everything looked so huge, so strange in the dim, warm light she used to have at home. A kind of goldish warm feeling. I have very mixed feelings letting everything go but objects need to serve the right place in the right moment. And these objects did that very well. Life moves on. Comments (2)Suzy - I know what you are up against. I am petite and in looking for desks last year there were a lot of desks that were too tall. My recommendation is to research Room and Board. If I recall, you can have a Parson’s desk (classic mid-century style) custom made to your dimensions. It however is not adjustable. Just one option to investigate. Good luck....See More- PRO
